Less than a week into his new gig, Nets GM Sean Marks has made his first move, waiving Andrea Bargnani after agreeing to a buyout.

The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on Andrea Bargnani, General Manager Sean Marks announced today.

Bargnani, who signed with the Nets on July 17, 2015, appeared in 46 games for Brooklyn, with averages of 6.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game.

The Nets roster now stands at 14 players.

The Nets signed Bargnani to a two-year minimum deal with a player option on the second year after two disastrous seasons with the Knicks and seven underwhelming ones with the Raptors. Bargnani will become a free agent after clearing waivers, but at this point, it’s hard to imagine any team picking him up. There are better options in the D-League.
