Adrian Griffin is just two years removed from playing in the NBA, but he already has coaching experience and is about to become one of the top assistants for an Eastern Conference contender. According to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal-Times, Griffin will make the move from Milwaukee, where he was a bit lower on Scott Skiles’ assistant coach food chain, to Chicago, where Griff will serve from the bench with new head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Griffin was primarily known for his defensive savvy over his nine-year NBA career, and though his resumé isn’t loaded with accolades, he was the starting off guard on the 2006 Mavericks squad that went all the way to the NBA finals. He bounced around a bit, was traded around, was signed and then waived, and then jumped into coaching following the ’07-'08 season.
