Ravens defensive tackle John Jenkins is 36 years old and has been in the NFL since 2013. and on Friday he experienced something new: His team signed him to a contract extension.

It’s been a long, strange trip for Jenkins to get a contract extension.

Originally a 2013 third-round pick of the Saints, Jenkins was released while still on his rookie contract with the Saints in 2016. Jenkins signed a contract for the remainder of the 2016 season with the Seahawks.

In 2017 Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Bears. After that contract expired, he signed another one-year contract with the Bears in the 2018 offseason, but they cut him before the season started. After that he signed a one-year contract with the Giants for the 2018 regular season.

In May of 2019, Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Giants, but they cut him before the regular season started. After that he signed a one-year contract to play for the Dolphins in 2019.

In April of 2020, Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Bears.

In April of 2021, Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins. More than a year later, in April of 2022, he signed another one-year contract with the Dolphins.

In the 2023 offseason, Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Raiders. In the 2024 offseason, he signed another one-year contract with the Raiders.

In May of 2025, Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Ravens. And now, in January of 2026, Jenkins has finally received something he never received before: A contract extension, with the Ravens signing him to a new deal that will pay him $2 million for the 2026 season.

I’ve been on, I want to say 11 one-deals,” Jenkins said, via ESPN. “So yeah, I was surprised.”

Although Jenkins will be 37 next season, there are players his age and older still playing on the defensive line in the NFL: Arizona’s Calais Campbell is 39, Philadelphia’s Brandon Graham is 37 and Pittsburgh’s Cam Heyward will turn 37 a couple months before Jenkins does. Jenkins thinks he still has something left, and the Ravens think so, too.

Ravens long snapper Nick Moore announced Friday that he has signed a four-year contract extension.

According to Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner, Moore said during an appearance on the Ryan Ripken Show that he finalized the deal Friday afternoon. Moore was scheduled to become a free agent in March.

“I’m not leaving, boys,” Moore said on the show. “Four-year extension for the kid. I’ll be here until I’m an old man, I guess.”

Moore entered the NFL with the Saints in 2019 but went on the non-football injury list. In 2020, he joined the Ravens’ practice squad and made his NFL debut that season by playing one game.

He took over the job in 2021 and made second-team All-Pro in 2022. Moore missed the 2023 season with a torn Achilles

The Ravens have already recently signed defensive lineman John Jenkins, nose tackle Travis Jones and tight end Mark Andrews to extensions.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said on Thursday that he’s ready to play against the Steelers on Sunday night and the team said the same on Friday.

Jackson has no injury designation for the AFC North title game. He missed last Saturday’s win over the Packers with a back contusion, but he was a full participant in practice all this week.

Jackson is expected to wear additional padding to protect his back on Sunday night.

The Ravens added cornerback Marlon Humphrey to the injury report on Friday. He missed practice with an illness and is considered questionable to play.

Wide receiver Rashod Bateman missed the entire week with an illness and also has a questionable designation. Defensive tackle Taven Bryan (knee) is listed as questionable to be activated from injured reserve.

Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt says he’s good to go for Sunday night’s AFC North championship game with the Ravens, after missing the last three games with a lung injury.

“I feel pretty good. Don’t know that I could’ve said that a week ago, but I feel really good about the week of practice, and I’m excited to play,” Watt said on Friday.

Although Watt was officially listed as a limited participant on the Steelers’ practice report, he said he was able to do everything on the practice field, with no limitations.

Watt suffered the lung injury during a dry needling procedure, in which a physical therapist inserts a thin needle into a muscle to relieve pain. A collapsed lung is a rare complication of a needle being inserted too far in the chest. Watt said he and many pro athletes he knows have used dry needling regularly, but he doesn’t plan to do it again any time soon.

“I got the dry needling at the facility, didn’t feel right afterwards, was in a significant amount of pain, ended up going to the hospital, having surgery, and the recovery was just different because it wasn’t something I’m used to,” Watt said.

Now Watt will get back to doing what he’s used to doing, and playing against the Ravens.

Defensive tackle John Jenkins will be sticking with the Ravens in 2026.

Jenkins signed a one-year deal with the team for the 2025 season and the Ravens announced on Friday that he has signed a contract extension. The team did not share any details of the deal.

Jenkins has started 13 games and appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens so far this season. He has 36 tackles, a sack, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in those appearances.

Jenkins appeared in 150 games for the Raiders, Dolphins, Bears, Seahawks, and Saints before landing in Baltimore. He will turn 37 next summer.
