Earlier on Monday, it was reported that the Panthers were working to finalize a deal with defensive tackle Milton Williams.

They weren’t able to get it done.

Instead, according to NFL Media, Williams has agreed to sign with the Patriots.

While the length of the deal was not reported, Williams is set to make $26 million per year.

Williams was No. 30 on PFT’s list of the top 100 free agents for 2025.

Williams, 25, just completed his rookie contract with the Eagles. A third-round pick in 2021, he recorded a career-high 5.0 sacks with seven tackles for loss and 10 QB hits in the 2024 regular season. He then posted 2.0 sacks with a pair of passes defensed and a forced fumble in four postseason games, helping Philadelphia win Super Bowl LIX.

The Patriots will now have a key piece to boost the middle of their defense in 2025.

Former Raiders safety Tre’von Moehrig will be joining the Panthers.

Moehrig has agreed to terms with Carolina.

A 2021 second-round draft pick, Moehrig has played his entire career in Las Vegas. Last year he started all 17 games for the Raiders, and he’ll be expected to step into the starting lineup right away in Carolina.

Moehrig is the No. 35 player on our list of the Top 100 free agents.

Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams will soon have enough money to pay his fine for dunking a ball over the goalpost.

Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports that the Panthers are “working to finalize” a deal with Williams. Schefter adds that “it’s going to get done,” and that Williams will be making more than $20 million per year.

Williams is one of the free agents the Eagles decided not to re-sign. Because, even though they’ve found a way to pay plenty of players, they can’t pay ‘em all.

It’s not done yet. But it’s moving there. And it gives the Panthers a key piece as they try to become competitive, for the first time in a long time.

Cornerback Jaycee Horn wasn’t set to become a free agent this week, but the Panthers still moved to lock him up for years to come.

The team announced that they have agreed to a four-year extension with their 2021 first-round pick. The team did not disclose other terms of the deal, but multiple reports say it is worth $100 million with $70 million in guaranteed money.

Horn missed big chunks of time with injuries in his first three NFL seasons, but was in the lineup 15 times in 2024 and was named a Pro Bowler for the first time at the end of the season. He had 68 tackles, an interception, 13 passes defensed, and two sacks over the course of the campaign.

Monday’s deal suggests the Panthers expect to see much more of that and much less of the injuries that kept him out of 29 games in the coming years.

Tight end Tommy Tremble is returning to the Panthers.

The team announced he has agreed to a two-year deal, and Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports it’s a max deal of $16 million with $8 million guaranteed.

Tremble, 24, was a third-round pick in 2021, and he has played 2,104 offensive snaps and 681 on special teams in 61 games. He has made 34 career starts.

Tremble made 23 receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns last year, and has 85 catches for 782 yards and nine touchdowns in his career.

The Panthers also have agreed to terms with center Austin Corbett ahead of free agency.
