The Seahawks got off to a sluggish start after making a cross-country trip to Nashville to face the Titans, but they look like they’re fully awake in the second quarter.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba got matched up 1-on-1 with Titans safety Amani Hooker and Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold found the league’s leading receiver for a 63-yard touchdown. The score put them up 10-3 with 11:02 left to play in the first half.

The Titans opened the game with a long drive that ate up more than nine minutes, but they opted to kick a field goal rather than go for it on a fourth down inside the 5-yard line.

Seattle followed with a field goal of its own and will now look to extend their lead even further before halftime.

The Packers won’t have running back Josh Jacobs for their home game against the Vikings on Sunday.

Jacobs was able to practice on a limited basis on Thursday and Friday, but the Packers listed him as questionable to play due to a knee injury that he suffered in last Sunday’s win over the Giants. Word that he’d be out came shortly before the Packers confirmed it with the announcement of their inactive list 90 minutes ahead of kickoff at Lambeau Field.

Emmanuel Wilson will be the lead back for Green Bay on Sunday. Chris Brooks is the other back active for the matchup of NFC North clubs.

Seahawks rookie wide receiver Tory Horton will miss at least the next four games.

Horton was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to the shin injury that kept him from playing in the team’s last two games. The fifth-round had 13 catches for 161 yards and five touchdowns in his eight appearances this season.

The Seahawks also elevated linebackers Patrick O’Connell and Jamie Sheriff from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Titans. O’Connell has played in eight career games for the Seahawks while Sheriff has not appeared in a regular season contest.

Seattle needed depth at the position because they ruled Tyrice Knight out with a concussion and listed Ernest Jones as questionable due to a knee injury.

Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker was added to the team’s injury report on Friday.

Walker is listed as questionable to face the Titans in Sunday’s road game. Walker is listed with a glute injury that landed him on the report for the first time this season.

The Seahawks also listed linebacker Ernest Jones (knee), fullback Robbie Ouzts (elbow, personal), and guard Grey Zabel (knee) as questionable to play this weekend.

Wide receiver Tory Horton (shin) and linebacker Tyrice Knight (concussion) are the only players who have been ruled out for the Tennessee game. It will be the second straight game on the sideline for Horton and it will be the first time that Knight is out of the lineup.

The new Nissan Stadium, the future home of the Titans, is set to open in 2027.

On Friday, the club held a ceremony to commemorate the stadium’s topping out, with commissioner Roger Goodell in attendance. Naturally, the question of new Nissan Stadium and Nashville potentially hosting a Super Bowl came up.

“I think so much of the vision that Amy [Adams Strunk] and the Titans have here,” Goodell said, via Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ website. “Listen, it’s an important franchise, a wonderful franchise for the NFL. And I know that the work that they’ve done here from the moment you’ve had the draft [in 2019] and what you did to change the trajectory of the draft — you actually took the draft and made it yours. But you did it in a way that made it incredibly impactful for the future of the NFL — and the Titans.

“And I think all of us at that moment had that wake-up moment that this is a Super Bowl-ready city. The one thing that was missing is the stage,” Goodell added, pointing behind him to the new stadium. “And I think now, you’re building a great stage. We have a process, but I have every expectation that we’re going to see that type of thing in the future.”

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee wrote a letter to Goodell earlier this year as part of Nashville’s bid to host Super Bowl LXIII in February 2029, capping the 2028 season. After Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium this coming February, SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is set to host Super Bowl LXI to finish the 2026 season, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will host Super Bowl LXII to end the 2027 season.

Las Vegas is also in the running to host Super Bowl LXIII.
