STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 15, 2025 – 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers (4-2) host NFC rushing leader Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Falcons (3-2) in the Week 7 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., the site of Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 on NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET.
McCaffrey recorded 111 scrimmage yards (54 rushing, 57 receiving) and a touchdown in the 49ers’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. McCaffrey ranks second in receptions (46) and eighth in receiving yards (444) in the NFL this season. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne had five receptions for 142 yards, while quarterback Mac Jones, who is filling in for starter Brock Purdy, threw for a season-high 347 yards.
The Falcons defeated the Buffalo Bills, 24-14, on Monday night behind Robinson’s 238 scrimmage yards (170 rushing, 68 receiving) and wide receiver Drake London’s 158 receiving yards on 10 receptions. Both Robinson and London scored a touchdown in the win. Monday marked the first game in franchise history in which the Falcons had a player with at least 150 rushing yards (Robinson) and another with at least 150 receiving yards (London).
Atlanta’s Robinson, with 822 scrimmage yards, and San Francisco’s McCaffrey, with 780, lead the NFL in scrimmage yards entering Week 7.
Atlanta and San Francisco, who both played in the NFC West from 1967-2001, meet for the 83rd time on Sunday, with the 49ers holding a 48-33-1 advantage in the series. Their last matchup was Oct. 16, 2022, which the Falcons won, 28-14.
Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst), and Melissa Stark (sideline reporter) will call Falcons-49ers. Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay is the rules analyst for all NFL games on NBC and Peacock.
Coverage begins with the Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. During these flex scheduling windows, the games initially scheduled for NBC Sunday Night Football are tentatively scheduled and subject to change. Only Sunday afternoon games (or those listed as TBD) are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the initially scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to Sunday afternoon. As in prior seasons, for Week 18, the final weekend of the season, the scheduling of the Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and the Sunday night games is not assigned. Specific dates, start times, and networks for Week 18 matchups will be determined and announced following the conclusion of Week 17.
