Hey, remember way back when Juventus had one win in its first six league matches and was bottom of the Serie A table?
Yeah, me neither.
Juventus has won 12 straight league matches, most recently pulverizing Chievo Verona 4-0 thanks to a brace by Alvaro Morata.
It could have been worse. Juventus ripped off a whopping 30 shots, 10 of which were on target. They out-passed Chievo 635-299, and overall looked the dominant side everyone expects from a club like Juventus. The fourth was this nice score by Paul Pogba, who is in brilliant form.
And then he dabbed, something he’s been doing badly non-stop since late 2015. Speaking of late 2015, Juventus hasn’t lost in league play since the end of October - the 28th to be exact. 30 goals scored, six conceded during the winning streak.
Pogba’s goal was his fifth of the season, four of which have come during this winning streak, including three in his last five matches. The 22-year-old nearly added a world-class goal in stoppage time, with an incredible first touch, turn, and shot that agonizingly cannoned off the crossbar.
Their form has taken Juve to the top of the Serie A table by a point for now, with Napoli set to face Empoli looking to regain the lead. Whether they hold onto the lead or not is irrelevant. The lesson here is that, if it wasn’t clear already: Juventus is back. They take on an injury-plagued Bayern Munich in Champions League play on February 23, and that match can’t come soon enough for the Bianconeri.
Seriously though, Pogba’s obsessed with dabbing.
Keep it up like this, Dab Team never dies bang bang 👊🏽👊🏽 great match guys! pic.twitter.com/swtvysg4lZ
