Mourinho jokes De Gea is Manchester United’s 3rd-best keeper

Even Jose Mourinho can crack a joke every now and then.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is the talk of the soccer world after his incredible performance in United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal that saw the Spaniard make a Premier League record 14 saves. But Mourinho is moving on from that.

With Sergio Romero - United’s goalie on Cup duty - starting against CSKA Moscow midweek in Champions League play, to be backed up by 21-year-old Joel Pereira, Mourinho is sticking to the script. With a wry smile.

When asked if he had ever come across a shot-stopper with the skills of De Gea, Mourinho joked, “Yes. Romero.”

“Because he plays [in our next match] and my goalkeeper is always the best goalkeeper in the world. So now David is the third best. Romero is number one, Joel number two and David is the third best.”

Good one Jose, but nobody’s buying it.
