With the club almost certainly headed to the Championship next season, the rebuilding process has already begun as sporting director Hendrik Almstadt and chief executive Tom Fox both stepped down from their positions this week.

With all the recent turnover at Villa, Remi Garde’s place at the club has come into question. When chairman Steve Hollis was asked about Garde’s future, he refused to give a definitive answer, saying he would let the board conduct a review and then a decision would be made.
In recent interviews Garde has looked a defeated man, and even if Villa wanted to keep him, it’s very likely he would walk away in the summer anyway. The nightmare for Villa supporters is almost over, as the end of the season can’t come soon enough.
