Rooney, 31, has had a tough time of things this season with Manchester United and England’s captain being dropped by both teams before starting again in recent weeks.
He started and played well in England’s 3-0 win against Scotland but photos have emerged from after that game showing him the team hotel joining in with wedding celebrations until 5 a.m. on Sunday morning and looking, shall we say, a little worse for wear.
Have a look at the photos below as Rooney left off some steam, while an FA spokesperson has revealed that the time off England’s players get while on international duty will now be reviewed.
Via Simon Peach of the Press Association, the FA didn’t seem too pleased.
With Gareth Southgate stating that Rooney was injured with a knee issue, he returned to Manchester United and missed England’s 2-2 friendly draw against Spain on Tuesday.
It looks like his injury could be newly classified as just having a sore head...
