Today may turn out to be a very poor day for Tim Sherwood and a very rich day for Aston Villa.
Hours after reports that Liverpool has met the release clause on Christian Benteke‘s contract, it seems Villa captain Fabian Delph has changed his mind, again, when it comes to the opportunity to join Manchester City.

Delph, 25, pulled out of a reported deal to join City last week, reaffirming his allegiance to Villa. Now, it seems, the tide has turned again.
Move over DeAndre Jordan.
From the Manchester Evening News, “Now, it seems, the England player has decided to go ahead with the original move after unconfirmed reports that he was having a medical in Wilmslow.”
Granted this speculation seems to be heated by a fan photo of Delph walking into City for a medical, and couldn’t that photo be old?
Anyway, it wouldn’t be a shock if Delph bolted, perhaps especially if Benteke is on his way out. What would Villa do with the money? Delph’s release clause is said to be $13 million, while Benteke’s is closer to $50 million.
