Wednesday’s Copa Del Ray second leg between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid made the English League Cup thriller between Spurs and Sheffield United look like a documentary on kidney beans.

And while there were gorgeous goals, a pair of red cards and plenty else to discuss in Barcelona’s 3-2 (4-2 on aggregate) win, one incident in particular is getting a lot of attention.

Arda Turan was fouled, losing his shoe in the process. Since the linesman didn’t deem the offense worthy of a flag-raise, Turan threw his shoe at the linesman (Why wouldn’t he?).

Gabi was given a red card at halftime for Atleti, short-circuiting its comeback plans, and Mario Suarez picked up a red of his own late in the match.

Oh, and the soccer: Fernando Torres continued his rejuvenation with a first-minute goal and Raul Garcia converted a questionable penalty in the 30th minute for Atleti, while Neymar netted a brace and Miranda conceded an own goal.
