Karl-Anthony Towns had 39 points (13-of-26 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and six three-pointers in the Knicks’ 140-132 victory over the Heat on Friday.
Towns only had one 30-point game on the season entering play Friday, but dropped 31 points in the first half against the Heat. The 29-year-old center became the fifth player in Knicks history to score at least 30 points in the first half. Towns scored more points Friday (39) than he had in his previous two games combined (36). Hopefully, he’ll be able to build on this performance and increase his scoring average to be in line with last year’s.
