Rui Hachimura finished Tuesday’s loss to the Thunder with 18 points (7-of-13 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three three-pointers.

Hachimura led the Lakers in minutes in Tuesday’s loss. He finished as a team-worst minus-21 in his 37 minutes, but was their best shot-maker on the evening, not named LeBron James. He tied a team-high in three-pointers and nearly reached the 20-point mark, as well, but didn’t make much noise beyond his scoring. He’ll want to figure out how to have more of a positive impact in Game 2.

Kylan Boswell (knee) is not expected to resume basketball activities until late October.

Boswell, whom the Hornets signed to a two-way contract this summer, is dealing with a right knee injury. The Hornets announced Monday that they aim to have the rookie return to basketball activities in late October, just before the G League season begins. Boswell’s absence will not affect fantasy basketball, even with the Hornets losing Coby White to a strained calf.
LeBron chose the 76ers, not Philly
David Samson joins Dan and the squad and debate over LeBron James' 'spectacle' of a commute: taking a helicopter from NY to Philly. The conversation turns to other famous sports figures who have traveled by chopper.

Coby White (calf) will not play in any of the Hornets’ preseason games.

According to the team, White suffered a strained left calf during training camp. As a result, he won’t play in any preseason games, and team doctors will re-evaluate him just before the start of the regular season. White’s injury means that Charlotte will go through the preseason without three expected rotation players, with Kon Knueppel and Grant Williams dealing with hamstring injuries. If White isn’t ready when the regular season begins, Dennis Schröder will gain added fantasy value as the Hornets’ most experienced healthy point guard.

Bulls insider K.C. Johnson reports that Nic Claxton tweaked his hamstring and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Claxton was traded to the Bulls on June 22, but his debut will have to wait at least two weeks. It’s unknown if Claxton’s injury will force him to miss time in the regular season, but if it does, Jalen Smith would be the next man up at center, making him a late-round dart throw worthy of consideration in deeper leagues.

Rui Hachimura finished with 21 points, five rebounds, a blocked shot and four triples across 15 minutes in Sunday’s 104-101 preseason win over the Warriors.

Hachimura moved from crypto.com Arena to Intuit Dome in the offseason after inking a two-year deal with the Clippers, and he figures to be an integral part of the team’s offensive gameplan. Hachimura’s current ADP suggests he can be had in the ninth or 10th rounds of fantasy drafts, making him a strong value.

Keaton Wagler finished Sunday’s win over the Warriors with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, a blocked shot and a triple across 30 minutes.

The rookie led all players in minutes and FGA (15). He shot just 3-of-15 from the floor and 1-of-11 from beyond the arc, but he came in clutch when it counted. Wagler scored nine points in the final frame, including a go-ahead step-back 19-footer with 14 seconds left to give the Clippers a 102-101 lead which they would not relinquish. Wagler should be heavily involved in LA’s rotation from Day 1, making him an interesting, late-round selection in 12-team fantasy basketball leagues.

Lauri Markkanen finished Sunday’s win over Denver with a game-high 17 points to go with two rebounds, a steal and three triples across 14 minutes.

Markkanen didn’t need much court time to get his buckets, and he led all scorers in the 2026-27 preseason opener. Production has never been a concern for Markkanen, as “The Finnisher” is a strong scorer, rebounder and shooter. Availability is the biggest concern for fantasy managers, but given his first-round upside, Markkanen is shaping up to be a draft-day value in Rounds 3-5.

Jaxson Hayes finished Sunday’s win over the Nuggets with two points, three rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots across 19 minutes.

Hayes joined the Jazz in the offseason after Utah traded Walker Kessler to the Lakers, and Hayes will serve as a backup option at center as he’s done throughout his career. He’s got appeal in deep leagues as a blocks specialist, but he’s unlikely to see big minutes as Utah has a deep frontcourt rotation.

Darryn Peterson went 1-of-5 and finished with three points in Sunday’s preseason win over the Nuggets.

Peterson also missed both of his three-point attempts. Though it was a poor effort offensively, Peterson was solid on the defensive end with six boards and a steal, and he chipped in two dimes to round out his final stat line. Better days are ahead for the No. 2 pick, and fantasy managers don’t need to read much into this performance.

Tyus Jones logged 19 minutes in the Nuggets’ preseason opener, finishing Sunday’s loss to Utah with eight points, two rebounds, six assists and a pair of triples.

The veteran point guard will open the season with Denver after the Nuggets signed him in March. He’ll operate as a depth option behind Jamal Murray, and Jones will have streaming appeal if Murray misses time.

Trevon Brazile finished Sunday’s 109-97 loss to the Jazz with seven points, three rebounds, two blocked shots and a triple across 20 minutes.

The rookie out of Arkansas tied Julian Strawther for team lead in minutes, and he had a serviceable night, going 3-of-4 from the field and making an impact on defense. Denver doesn’t boast a deep bench, especially in the frontcourt, so Brazile has a real chance to earn meaningful rotation minutes in Year 1.
