  • PIT Running Back #30

Jaylen Warren (hamstring) was upgraded to “full” for Thursday’s practice.
It means that, barring a setback, Warren will officially be active for Sunday’s opener against the Falcons. We don’t love a committeeman coming off missing a big chunk of the summer with a soft-tissue injury, but Warren still offers upside FLEX appeal. There will just be a little more downside than usual. Provided he escapes Sunday unscathed, Warren should rise up the Week 2 ranks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Packers met with WR Jayden Reed’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to clarify his status with the team.
The meeting comes after the Packers selected a wide receiver in the first round for the first time since 2002 in this year’s draft. ESPN’s Adam Schefter added that the team emphasized Reed’s status as the top option at wide receiver after the selection of Matthew Golden and Savion Williams. “Green Bay’s top receiver” means far less for fantasy than it does in other places around the league considering Reed led the team with just 62.6% of the team’s offensive snaps played in 2024.
Gabriel takes first reps at Browns rookie minicamp
Patrick Daugherty breaks down Dillon Gabriel being chosen to take first reps over Shedeur Sanders during Cleveland Browns' rookie minicamp, analyzing how it's another challenge Sanders has to overcome to see the field.
  • NO Quarterback
    Saints signed QB Hunter Dekkers.
Dekkers spent three seasons with the Cyclones of Iowa State before stepping away from football following an indictment surrounding charges related to sports gambling. He then played his final collegiate season at Iowa Western before being invited to Saints camp. Dekkers spent his redshirt season backing up Brock Purdy at Iowa State.
  • SEA Guard
Seahawks signed No. 18 overall pick OG Grey Zabel to a four-year contract.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Zabel’s deal is worth a guaranteed $18.471 million. The former North Dakota State guard will be tasked with bolstering a Seahawks line that ranked 26th in PFF pass blocking grades and 24th in run blocking grades. The Seahawks didn’t do much to address their offensive line this offseason, with Zabel being the biggest addition to date. The FCS stud showed out at this year’s senior bowl, and brings high expectations into his rookie season after dominating at the college ranks.
  • FA Wide Receiver #0
Free agent WR Gabe Davis is visiting the 49ers on Monday.
It’s the first known interest we’ve seen of Davis, who was released by the Jaguars last week with a failed physical designation. The 49ers will likely be without Brandon Aiyuk to start the season, and the idea of adding another veteran to the room is appealing. Kyle Shanahan can turn a lot of football players into something fantasy-interesting, but Davis might be a step beyond even his schemes.
  • FA Wide Receiver #16
    Falcons released WR Phillip Dorsett.
What was your favorite moment of Dorsett’s three-month run on a reserve/future contract with the Falcons? Was it when the signing was announced, or was it when the release happened? Dorsett will try to bounce to another team as wideout depth as he enters his age-32 season. He did not play NFL snaps last year and was only targeted three times by the Broncos in 2023.
  • DAL Running Back
Cowboys signed No. 149 overall pick RB Jaydon Blue to a four-year contract.
Blue’s deal is worth $4.627 million and includes a $427k signing bonus. The rookie joins one of the thinnest running back rooms in the league heading into this season and could have a realistic shot to earn a starting role as early as Week 1. While it’s unlikely Blue earns a significant workload that early, it seems highly unlikely that he’ll be held off by 28-year-old Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams, who hasn’t looked the same player since suffering a devastating knee injury in 2022, for the entirety of the 2025 season. Blue totaled 1,098 yards and 14 touchdowns last season at Texas while also catching 42 passes.
  • DAL Running Back
The Athletic’s Saad Yousuf believes “by the end of the year” Jaydon Blue will be Dallas’ “No. 1 guy” at running back.
Yousuf projects Javonte Williams being the “leading guy early in the season,” but eventually Blue “ends up getting more carries and leading the team in rushing.” Many young players take a month or two to get comfortable at NFL speed — or really, many coaches need that time to understand that the veterans ahead of them aren’t going to tote the load — so this sounds like a reasonable timeline to us. Given how often the Cowboys outwardly project the idea that they want to run the ball a lot, Blue certainly has a reasonable ceiling case as an RB2 or so down the stretch.
  • NO Wide Receiver #19
    Saints signed WR Donovan Peoples-Jones.
Peoples-Jones didn’t play last season after combining for 155 yards on 13 catches between the Lions and Browns in 2023, the final year of his rookie contract. He’ll look to latch on in a depth role in New Orleans.
  • Browns placed LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) on the reserve/PUP list.
Owusu-Kormaoah reported to Browns OTAs last month, but didn’t practice with the team after suffering a serious neck injury in Week 8 against the Ravens last season. The Browns released a statement saying that they “will not make any proedictions on Jeremiah’s football future at this time.” Landing on the reserve/PUP list means that Owusu-Koramoah will miss the entire 2025 season. Second-round pick Carson Schwesigner would seem to have a chance to compete for a starting role in his rookie season.
  • GB Wide Receiver #18
Packers OC Adam Stenavich said there’s “a zillion different ways” to use WR Savion Williams in the offense.
There’s a good chance this quote is viewed as nothing more than minicamp hype in a few months, but it’s an interesting note. Williams was one of two receivers drafted by the Packers last month, but as a rookie third-rounder, he will need to battle to earn significant playing time out of training camp. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound receiver lined up on the outside on 84.3 percent of his snaps for his career at TCU, but surprised last season when he unexpectedly saw 51 rush attempts and turned those carries into 322 yards (6.3 YPC) and six scores on the ground. He also averaged an impressive 4.22 YCO/ATT on those carries and forced a missed tackle at a 43.1 percent rate. It’s worth noting that Williams played 46 snaps at quarterback and another 38 out of the backfield. While he was never the most productive receiver, this “offensive weapon” profile he appears to have could be his ticket to more playing time as a rookie. That said, we’ve also seen players with these profiles fall by the wayside over time. The Packers liked Williams enough to use the No. 87 pick on him in the draft, but in an already crowded receiver room, he may need to find other ways to stand out once training camp ramps up.
