Noah Clowney posted a full line on Thursday with 17 points (6-of-12 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and five three-pointers against the Heat.
This was the second straight game that Clowney scored 17 points in a loss in Miami, but he did more work from beyond the three-point line in this one. His production has been inconsistent, and he had some rough performances in February, but he is more than capable of making a big impact. He is one of the safest fantasy options in Brooklyn at the moment.
Nolan Traore
BKN
Guard
#88
Nolan Traoré finished with nine points (4-of-9 FGs), three rebounds, nine assists and one three-pointer against the Heat on Thursday.
After being held without an assist in Tuesday’s loss in Miami, Traoré responded with his second-highest assist total in a game this season. All nine of his point came before halftime, so this certainly could’ve been a bigger performance for him. Still, it was good to see him provide more playmaking in this outing. They’ll wrap up the week in Detroit on Saturday, which will be another tough matchup.
Michael Porter
BKN
Forward
#17
Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 27 points (9-of-24 FGs), 13 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and seven three-pointers in a 126-110 loss to the Heat on Thursday.
Following a rough performance in Tuesday’s loss to the Heat, MPJ was better in the rematch, though his field goal percentage was still subpar, and the result on the scoreboard was the same. He continues to be the best fantasy option in Brooklyn, as long as the Nets keep playing him. Brooklyn has lost 10 games in a row, with MPJ playing in nine of them, so his availability hasn’t damaged their lottery odds. He’ll look to stay hot in Detroit on Saturday to wrap up this three-game road trip.
Egor Dëmin
BKN
Guard
#8
According to Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez, Egor Dëmin (foot) does not have a return timeline.
Plantar fasciitis has been an issue for Dëmin since the preseason, but the Nets have been able to manage his workload for most of this season. However, the rookie has missed the last three games and it’s unknown when Dëmin will return to action. Terance Mann has moved into the starting lineup, but he doesn’t offer the production needed to impact fantasy basketball.
Egor Dëmin
BKN
Guard
#8
Egor Dëmin (foot) is out for Thursday’s game against the Heat.
Thursday’s game will be the third that Dëmin has missed due to his current foot injury. Terance Mann has moved into the starting lineup, most recently logging 27 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Heat. He is not worth the risk in fantasy leagues.
Michael Porter
BKN
Forward
#17
Michael Porter Jr. recorded nine points (3-of-17 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), three rebounds and three assists in Tuesday’s loss to the Heat.
Porter’s three-point production matched his turnover count on Tuesday, as he missed all nine of his attempts. Simply put, this was a “burn the tape” game for MPJ, and he’ll look to do better in Thursday’s rematch. And with the Nets visiting the Pistons on Saturday, this has the potential to be a rough week for the Nets’ leading scorer.
Nolan Traore
BKN
Guard
#88
Nolan Traoré accounted for 14 points (5-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds and two three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Heat.
While Traoré shot the ball reasonably well on Tuesday, this was a night to forget for the rookie point guard. He ran into “Off Night,” better known as Davion Mitchell, and it was not pretty. Not only did Traoré fail to record an assist, but he was also responsible for six turnovers. He’ll look to bounce back in Thursday’s rematch.
Noah Clowney
BKN
Forward-Center
#21
Noah Clowney finished Tuesday’s loss to the Heat with 17 points (4-of-8 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), seven rebounds, one steal and one three-pointer.
On a night when the Nets shot 38 percent from the field, Clowney made half of his shots from the field. The foul line was where the forward/center boosted his point total, but more notable was the rebound total. Clowney’s seven rebounds were the most in a game for him since January 23, when he grabbed nine in an overtime loss to the Celtics. While he can provide three-point value, Clowney doing more on the glass over the final month of the regular season would be a good thing to see happen heading into the offseason.
Nic Claxton
BKN
Center
#33
Nic Claxton (thumb) is available for Tuesday’s matchup with the Heat.
Claxton sat out Sunday’s tilt with the Cavaliers, but he’ll return following a one-game absence. Claxton’s availability will push Day’Ron Sharpe back to the bench after a lukewarm performance in Sunday’s spot start.
Egor Dëmin
BKN
Guard
#8
Egor Dëmin (foot) is out for Tuesday’s game against the Heat.
Tuesday’s game will be the second straight that Dëmin has missed due to his foot. Terance Mann moved into the starting lineup for Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers, but he only played 14 minutes. There’s no need to consider streaming him, especially after Ziaire Williams logged 33 minutes off the bench.
