Jonas Valančiūnas tallied 13 points (4-of-6 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, one assist and one steal in Monday’s win over the Jazz.

With no Cameron Johnson (ankle), the Nuggets decided to slide Valančiūnas into the starting lineup. And Monday’s game was the first in which Valančiūnas started alongside Nikola Jokić. The veteran center was solid in his 17 minutes, with Bruce Brown (4/3/4/1) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (7/6/1 with one three-pointer) each playing 30 minutes off the bench. Even if Johnson isn’t available for Thursday’s game against the Lakers and Valančiūnas gets another start, JV’s unlikely to get the minutes needed to affect fantasy basketball with a healthy Jokić in the lineup.

Nikola Jokić recorded 22 points (6-of-11 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in Monday’s win over the Jazz.

Fantasy managers hoping for an explosive performance from Jokić in his first game of Week 19 were left disappointed, even with the three-time MVP recording a solid line. Utah used smaller players to defend The Joker for most of the night, and that appeared to give him some trouble. Jokić did record another double-double, but fantasy managers were likely expecting more with the Jazz headed for the draft lottery.
Jamal Murray

Jamal Murray accounted for 45 points (13-of-19 FGs, 11-of-12 FTs), two rebounds, eight assists, two steals and eight three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Jazz.

While Murray was responsible for seven turnovers on Monday, the Nuggets’ guard was highly accurate when shooting the basketball. The 45 points were the most in a game for Murray since December 3, when he dropped a season-high 52 on the Pacers. He’s scored at least 40 points in four games this season, double his tally during the 2024-25 campaign. The Nuggets play two more games in Week 19, starting with the Lakers on Thursday.

Jamal Murray, Julian Strawther, Christian Braun, Jonas Valančiūnas and Nikola Jokić will start Monday’s game against the Jazz.

The Nuggets won’t have Cameron Johnson (ankle) for Monday’s game, which frees up a spot in the starting lineup. They’ve decided to go big, with Valančiūnas joining the starters. Since Murray and Jokić are also available, JV offers limited fantasy upside.

Jones, who was traded twice ahead of February’s deadline, was waived by the Mavericks on Saturday. Since he was waived ahead of the March 1 deadline, the veteran point guard will be eligible for the postseason. While he gives the Nuggets another ballhandler, Jones’ addition to the roster does not affect most fantasy leagues.

Cameron Johnson (ankle) and Spencer Jones (shoulder) are out for Monday’s matchup with the Jazz.

Denver will be shorthanded yet again, and the absences of Johnson and Jones should free up additional minutes for Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown.
Peyton Watson

Peyton Watson (hamstring) will be re-evaluated this week.

The Nuggets have been down two rotation players, Watson and Aaron Gordon, over the past month due to hamstring strains. Watson was injured during a February 4 loss to the Knicks and given a re-evaluation timeline of four weeks. According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, the hope is that Watson will be able to return within 7-10 days. Given how well he played before the injury, Watson may start once he’s no longer restricted, given Cameron Johnson’s struggles in his first season with the team.
Aaron Gordon

Aaron Gordon (hamstring) will be re-evaluated this week.

Gordon aggravated his strained right hamstring during Denver’s January 23 win over the Bucks, and he was given a re-evaluation timeline of four to six weeks. According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, there’s hope that Gordon will be able to return to game action within the next seven to ten days. Once he’s able to play without restrictions, Gordon will likely bump Julian Strawther from the starting lineup, but that won’t happen during Denver’s three-game Week 19.
Cameron Johnson

Cameron Johnson (ankle) finished Sunday’s loss to the Timberwolves with zero points (0-of-6 FGs), four rebounds and three assists.

Johnson, who was dealing with right ankle inflammation before Sunday’s game, logged 23 ineffective minutes before exiting during the third quarter and not returning. The veteran forward has struggled recently, and that was before the ankle became an issue. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown are likely to pick up additional minutes if Johnson has to miss time. Denver visits the Jazz on Monday, the first of three games they’ll play in Week 19.
Nikola Jokić

Nikola Jokić had 35 points (15-of-26 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), 13 rebounds, nine assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer in Sunday’s loss to the Timberwolves.

Jokić continues his absolute dominance on the court despite the loss to the Timberwolves. The 31-year-old center had at least 30 points for the fourth time in his last five games while also recording at least 12 rebounds for the fifth time in his last six games. Jokić is the top player in per game value this season, according to Basketball Monster. The Nuggets have three games in the upcoming week, starting with a matchup against the Jazz on Monday.
