Clayton has missed the last three games with an ankle injury. With Ty Jerome (shoulder) listed as doubtful, the rookie guard could take on a more prominent role within the rotation if he’s allowed to play. However, Javon Small and Cam Spencer remain more reliable fantasy options.

If there’s a positive to Jerome appearing on the injury report, it’s that he is on it for a shoulder injury, not his calf, which delayed the guard’s start to the season. His likely absence means the Grizzlies will rely on Javon Small and Cam Spencer to run the show. At this point, both players should be rostered in 14-team leagues.

Spencer was back in the lineup after not playing on Thursday, playing 30 minutes as part of the Grizzlies’ starting backcourt. With Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) done for the season, Spencer has a higher fantasy ceiling moving forward, whether he starts or comes off the bench. Javon Small (23/3/3/2 with four three-pointers) qualifies as well, especially with the Grizzlies continuing to limit Ty Jerome’s minutes.

Ty Jerome finished Friday’s loss to the Pistons with 21 points (8-of-17 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), one rebound, three assists and three three-pointers.

Jerome returned to the Grizzlies’ lineup after sitting out Thursday’s loss to the Mavericks, and he was productive in his time on the floor. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, he was once again limited to 25 minutes, so his fantasy ceiling may be capped as long as that remains the case. Jerome should be rostered in 14-team leagues, and some 12-team leagues as well, but the upside is limited for injury-management reasons.

Cam Spencer, Ty Jerome, Cedric Coward, Taylor Hendricks and Olivier-Maxence Prosper will start Friday’s game against the Pistons.

The only holdover from the lineup that started Thursday’s loss to the Mavericks is Prosper. Jerome, Spencer and Coward are back after not playing against Dallas, while Hendricks shifts from the bench to the starting lineup since GG Jackson is out.
