According to Jonathan Abrams of the New York Times, Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni plans on going back to a small-ball starting lineup against the Warriors tonight. Rookie center Timofey Mosgov will start the game on the bench, Amar’e Stoudemire will start at center, and Wilson Chandler will start at the power forward spot.

When explaining the move, D’Antoni said that “he wasn’t getting 20 rebounds a game,” and said that he “may have messed up” by putting Mosgov in the starting lineup at the beginning of the year. Mosgov has averaged 4.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.57 fouls, and 1.86 turnovers in 14.6 minutes per game this season.

Stoudemire has only shot 43.4% from the field this season and has been extremely effective playing center for D’Antoni before, so this move may be as much about Stoudemire as it is about Mosgov -- with more space to operate in, Stoudemire tends to become far more effective on the offensive end.
