According to Hoopsworld.com, former Maryland star and 2002 Final Four Most Outstanding Player Juan Dixon will work out with the Cleveland Cavaliers this week.
Dixon has been a role player for the duration of his career -- in seven seasons, Dixon averaged 8.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on 41.3%/34.1%/83.3% shooting. He spent last season in Spain, and was suspended by FIBA in February after testing positive for steroids.
If the Cavaliers do bring back Dixon, he will almost certainly play for the veteran’s minimum and serve as a 12th man/practice-squad guy. It’s not much, but it could be one last shot at the NBA for the former college superstar.
