Knicks could be interested in Shaun Livingston
According to the twitter account of newsday.com’s Alan Hahn, the New York Knicks could be interested in signing Shaun Livingston this off-season. The former #4 overall pick had a strong finish to the season with the Wizards, averaging 16.3 points and 6.1 assists per game on 64% shooting in April. It was the type of production that Livingston hasn’t shown since his horrific knee injury several seasons ago, and has put him back on the radar of many NBA teams.
The Knicks will look to sign much bigger targets than Livingston this off-season, but Livingston could actually fit into Mike D’Antoni’s system quite well. Livingtston is a gifted playmaker, and his size could allow him to cross-match effectively, which is a vital skill for a D’Antoni player. He could be a Boris Diaw-like player, who had his best seasons in Phoenix under D’Antoni. A Livingston signing won’t produce the type of headlines Knicks fans will be looking for this summer, but he could prove to be a good choice to round out what will soon be a paper-thin roster.
