Knicks forward Tracy McGrady has made it fairly clear that he wouldn’t mind playing for his former team next season. After Wednesday night’s Wizards-Magic tilt, Wizards forward Mike Miller admitted to Andrew Melnick of Howard the Dunk that he would love to return to his former team:
“I would love to,” Miller said. “Look at what they have. For a shooter that is a dream come true. It would be exciting to go in there. Not only do they have a big guy who they have a chance to double, but they have shooters around the horn. It would be fun a experience for sure.”
Miller is currently best known as a great shooter who is strangely hesitant to shoot and fancies himself a point forward. In Orlando’s system, Miller could get more open looks and go back to basing his game around what he does best -- shoot the basketball. JJ Redick and Matt Barnes will likely both be free agents this summer, and the Magic may look at Miller if they fail to re-sign one or both of them. Miller probably won’t end up returning to his former team, but it’s nice to think about such a talented shooter playing for a team that has embraced the three-pointer the way the Magic have.
