Obama: LeBron re-signing with the Cavaliers would be a “great story”

On Thursday, President Barrack Obama sat down with CNN’s Larry King to discuss the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill. At some point during the interview, King asked Obama about the free agency status of LeBron James, whose own interview with King will air on Friday night.

Obama previously said that he could see James “fitting in pretty well” with Obama’s hometown Chicago Bulls, while also saying that James should stay in Cleveland if James felt the correct structure was in place for him there. Obama stuck to his pro-Cleveland message when he spoke to King, saying that part of him hopes that James will re-sign with Cleveland because it would be a “great story.” He then acknowledged that sentiment might not be a popular one in Chicago.

LeBron’s interview with King is scheduled to air at 9:00 EST on Friday night.
