Raptors waive Dwayne Jones

According to the Toronto Globe and Mail, the Toronto Raptors have officially waived journeyman forward Dwayne Jones. The Raptors acquired Jones in the Hedo Turkoglu trade, but he was waived before ever playing a game for Toronto.

Jones has played for four NBA teams in five seasons, but was only really a part of the rotation in Cleveland, when he averaged 8.4 minutes per game in 56 appearances during the 2007-08 season. Jones is tall, fairly athletic, and a decent rebounder, but he’s mostly been used to occupy an end-of-the bench seat or bolster a D-League roster up to this point in his career.
