Julian Champagnie had 20 points (6-of-10 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), nine rebounds, one assist and five three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Clippers.

Champagnie’s 20 points and five three-pointers helped the Spurs dig their way out of a 25-point deficit before beating the Clippers 116-112. The 24-year-old small forward had four three-pointers in the third quarter alone. He’s provided fifth-round per game value over the last two weeks. The Spurs close out Week 19 against the Rockets on Sunday.

Wembanyama has now scored at least 25 points in three of his last four games. The 22-year-old center has three double-doubles and 19 blocks in that span. Wembanyama has been the top player in per game value over the last two weeks. The Spurs close out Week 19 against the Rockets on Sunday.

Champagnie is dealing with right knee soreness that may keep him out for the second leg of San Antonio’s back-to-back set. If Champagnie is ultimately ruled out, Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson could pick up some extra minutes.

Barnes will surprisingly miss a third straight game which should lead to additional playing time for Carter Bryant, but San Antonio’s deep rotation limits Bryant’s fantasy ceiling.

Stephon Castle recorded a double-double on Thursday with 11 points (4-of-8 FGs), one rebound, 12 assists, two steals and one block against the Pistons.

Castle recorded a second straight double-double, making this the 10th time this season he’s finished with at least 10 assists. He didn’t do much scoring, but with Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron fox combining for 67 points, he didn’t need to. Castle has been a solid source of assists and steals in his second season in the league, though he has been limited in category leagues by in inefficiencies. However, he has shot at least 50 percent from the floor in each of his last two games and has a total of four turnovers over his last four games. It’s a solid stretch, but managers shouldn’t expect the trend to continue.
De'Aaron Fox

De’Aaron Fox lit up the Pistons with 29 points (12-of-22 FGs), five rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers on Thursday.

It has been a rough stretch for Fox since the All-Star break, but he was able to get on track in this one. This was his highest-scoring performance since Jan. 22, and it came after he scored a total of 32 points across their previous three games. There weren’t any issues when the Spurs were winning, but his seven-point outing in the loss to the Knicks stuck out. It was good to see him have a night like this, and it will hopefully carry over into their matchup with the Clippers on Friday.
Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 38 points (12-of-24 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), 16 rebounds, three assists, five blocks and four three-pointers in a 121-106 win over the Pistons on Thursday.

Wemby wasn’t aggressive on offense in the Spurs’ 40-point win over the 76ers on Tuesday, but in a nationally-televised matchup with the top team in the East, he made a massive impact on both ends of the floor. The points, rebounds, blocks and triples were dominant, but nothing new for him. However, he hasn’t been this dominant at the free throw line often, and this was only the fifth time this season he finished without a turnover. He’ll continue to pour in the stats moving forward, with a matchup with the Clippers up next on the schedule on Friday.

Plumlee’s continued absence does not affect fantasy basketball, as the other Spurs’ post players are all healthy.

After missing a game for the first time since December 4, 2021, on Tuesday, Barnes will remain out for Thursday’s matchup with the Pistons. Carter Bryant should once again pick up rotation minutes, but there isn’t much fantasy value to be had in streaming the rookie.
