The Browns listed two of their starting offensive linemen as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Packers and only one of them will be playing.

Right tackle Jack Conklin is out with an elbow injury that limited him in practice all this week. Left guard Joel Bitonio did not practice all week because of a back injury, but he will play.

Cornelius Lucas will start in Conklin’s place.

On the Packers side, tight end Tucker Kraft and right tackle Zach Tom will both play.

Wide receiver Christian Kirk (hamstring) and returner Braxton Berrios (hamstring) will make their 2025 debuts this week.

Both returned to full participation on Friday.

The Texans can use the help as they have scored the fewest points in the league through two weeks.

Cornerback Jaylin Smith (hamstring) is the only player the Texans ruled out. He missed practice all week and was the only player out of Friday’s practice.

Center Jake Andrews (ankle), cornerback Kamari Lassiter (knee), safety Jalen Pitre (rib) and defensive lineman Darrell Taylor (hip) are good to go after full participation on Friday.

The Texans’ injury report remained the same as on Wednesday.

Cornerback Jaylin Smith (hamstring) was out of practice again Thursday.

Center Jake Andrews (ankle), wide receiver Braxton Berrios (hamstring), wide receiver Christian Kirk (hamstring), cornerback Kamari Lassiter (knee), safety Jalen Pitre (rib) and defensive lineman Darrell Taylor (hip) were limited.

Berrios and Kirk have not played this season, and the Texans have scored the fewest points in the league through the first two weeks of the season.

Andrews played 45 snaps in the season opener before his injury. Jarrett Patterson replaced him the rest of that game and in Week 2.

Texans safety Jimmie Ward will not be prosecuted on a third-degree felony domestic violence charge.

Ward was arrested in June, but a grand jury in Montgomery County, Texas has no-billed the case. The failure to indict means that Ward will no longer face a criminal trial, but he still faces a civil suit related to the assault allegation.

“I can finally move forward,” Ward said, via Aaron Wilson of KPRC.

The NFL placed Ward on the Commissioner Exempt list in August, so he has been on paid leave for most of the last month. He had spent the summer on the physically unable to perform list after having foot surgery in the offseason, but will be eligible to return to action when and if he is taken off the exempt list.

Through two games, Jaguars No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter has played 61 percent of the team’s offensive snaps and 37 percent of defensive snaps.

With coaching a two-way player still a unique challenge, Jags head coach Liam Coen told reporters in his Wednesday press conference that he thinks the team has found a sweet spot in how to split Hunter’s practice time.

“You look at, I think we were very intentional last week, specifically about some of the volume and mileage that we were looking at deploying, and it showed up on Sunday,” Coen said. “There’s definitely things to clean up about that in terms of detailing the preparation and making sure that all the formations, all the alarms [are known], but we can help them too and maybe simplify some of that stuff as well for him.

“But very happy with where things were last week in terms of our organization with him, his preparation, and we kind of continue to do that this week as we continue to just evaluate how many snaps and what it’s going look like each week.”

Coen noted that Hunter is pretty much splitting his time 50-50 between offense and defense during the practice week. But Hunter is also putting in plenty of extra work on his own.

“So, he does have to do, I don’t want to call it double time, but it is in a lot of ways, a little bit of double time,” Coen said. “So, I thought he had a really intentional week last week. The way that he prepared, the way that he practiced was exactly what we’re hunting up, so was definitely pleased and hopefully it continues to carry over.”

It’s only been two weeks, but at this point, Coen isn’t concerned about Hunter’s workload.

“I mean, I think, if anything, we probably have a little bit more encouragement and excitement about where things went this last week in terms of being able to handle that workload,” Coen said. “We’ve got to manage it, though, like it’s something we are constantly evaluating.

“So, is it a concern? No, it’s just something that we definitely need to make sure we’re constantly evaluating and being able to tweak if necessary.”

Hunter has caught nine passes for 55 yards and recorded three total tackles with one pas defensed so far as a rookie.
