It appears the Texans will have both quarterback C.J. Stroud and safety Jalen Pitre back on the field this week.

Both players remain in concussion protocol but are moving closer to a return.

Stroud had a second consecutive full practice and awaits clearance from an independent neurologist. Pitre returned to full participation on Thursday after being limited Wednesday.

Both players missed the past three games after being diagnosed in the loss to the Broncos.

The Texans added defensive end Will Anderson to the practice report on Thursday as a non-participant with a chest injury.

Cornerback Ajani Carter (hamstring) and linebacker Jamal Hill (hamstring) remained out of practcie.

Defensive end Denico Autry (knee) and offensive tackle Blake Fisher (illness) returned to limited work. Offensive tackle Trent Brown (hand) remained limited.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones landed on the injury report last week with a fibula injury and it’s reportedly an injury he will continue to deal with for a while.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jones has a fracture in his fibula. Jones plans to play against the Texans this week and to continue playing through the injury in the weeks to come.

The Colts listed Jones as limited in Wednesday’s practice, but will reportedly be listed as a full participant on Thursday. James Boyd of TheAthletic.com reports that Jones did not take all of the reps in the portion of practice open to the media, however, and that the quarterback did not “look as fluid or fast as normal” while going through drills.

Jones said on Wednesday that he does not know exactly when the injury occurred. He was 19-of-31 for 181 yards and two touchdowns last Sunday, but the Colts failed to pick up a first down on their final four possessions of a 23-20 overtime loss.

Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice as he returns from a concussion.

He was injured in the team’s Week 9 loss to the Broncos and has missed the past three games.

Coach DeMeco Ryans said Stroud remains in concussion protocol.

Davis Mills started all three games Stroud missed, and the Texans won all three to get back into the AFC playoff picture.

It seems likely, though, that Stroud will gain clearance to play in Week 13 against the Colts.

Defensive end Denico Autry (knee), cornerback Ajani Carter (hamstring), offensive tackle Blake Fisher (illness) and linebacker Jamal Hill (hamstring) did not participate on Wednesday.

Offensive tackle Trent Brown (hand) and safety Jalen Pitre (concussion) were limited.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones will remain on the injury report this week.

Jones landed on the report last Thursday as a limited participant because of a fibula injury and head coach Shane Steichen said that Jones will be listed as a limited participant again on Wednesday. The Colts are only holding a walkthrough, so that’s an estimation of what Jones would do in a full practice session.

Jones moved back to full participation last Friday and played in Indianapolis’ overtime loss to the Chiefs. He was 19-of-31 for 181 yards and two touchdowns that helped the Colts take an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but he also ran the offense on four straight three-and-outs that opened the door for Kansas City’s comeback win.

The Colts will need a better result against the Texans this weekend or things will suddenly be very tight in the AFC South as December gets underway.

The Colts will be without one of their key contributors for at least the next four weeks.

Indianapolis announced on Tuesday that the club has placed receiver/returner Ashton Dulin on injured reserve.

Dulin suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Chiefs. He’s averaged 29.8 yards on 11 kick returns so far this season. He’s also caught five passes for 106 yards and taken three carries for 44 yards.

As a corresponding move, the club has signed safety George Odum to the 53-man roster off the club’s practice squad.

Cornerback Cameron Mitchell has been signed to the practice squad to replace Odum’s spot.
