The Dolphins have found a defensive coordinator for new head coach Jeff Hafley.
According to multiple reports, Miami is hiring Green Bay linebackers coach Sean Duggan for the role.
Duggan, 32, had worked under Hafley at Boston College as the team’s linebackers coach from 2020-2022 and was co-defensive coordinator in 2023.
When Hafley was hired as Green Bay’s defensive coordinator in 2024, Duggan came along as a defensive assistant. He was then promoted to linebackers coach in 2025.
Duggan played linebacker at Boston College and began his coaching career there as a graduate assistant in 2015. He also spent time with Hawaii, Mass, and Ohio State as an assistant coach.
Hafley has said that he will call Miami’s defensive plays in 2026.
Darrell Bevell is reportedly on the list of offensive coordinator candidates getting a second interview with the Jets.
Longtime NFL reporter Josina Anderson reports that Bevell is scheduled for an in-person interview with the team on Monday. A meeting with former Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman is also on the docket and the Jets had talks with former Colts, Panthers and Stanford head coach Frank Reich about joining the coaching staff before they fired Tanner Engstrand last week.
Bills quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry and Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells also had virtual interviews with the Jets.
Bevell spent the last four seasons as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Dolphins. He had previous offensive coordinator stints with the Jaguars, Lions, Seahawks and Vikings.
Bevell also served as an interim head coach in Jacksonville and Detroit. He was 2-7 in those stints.
Nathaniel Hackett is back on a coaching staff as a position coach.
The Dolphins have hired Hackett as their quarterbacks coach, Dan Graziano of ESPN reports.
Hackett spent last season as a defensive analyst for the Packers.
He previously was the offensive coordinator for the Bills (2013-14), Jaguars (2016-18), Packers (2019-21) and Jets (2023-24). He was the Jaguars’ quarterbacks coach in 2015-16, and the Broncos’ head coach in 2022.
Hackett went 4-11 in his 15 games as head coach before the Broncos fired him.
Now the question becomes: Who will be the starter in Hackett’s quarterbacks room?
The Dolphins are expected to move on from Tua Tagovailoa after benching him for rookie Quinn Ewers, who started the final three games.
Two Broncos offensive linemen have been named finalists for the NFL’s inaugural Protector of the Year Award.
Left tackle Garett Bolles and right guard Quinn Meinerz are among the six candidates for the award. The prize is designed to honor the league’s top offensive lineman for a given season.
Bolles and Meinerz are joined as finalists by Dolphins center Aaron Brewer, Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, Lions right tackle Penei Sewell, and Bears left guard Joe Thuney.
The winner will be announced at next week’s NFL Honors show and will be chosen by a panel of former NFL offensive linemen. LeCharles Bentley, Jason Kelce, Shaun O’Hara, Orlando Pace, Will Shields, and Andrew Whitworth make up that panel.
The Jaguars added a pair of coaches to Liam Coen’s staff on Wednesday.
They announced the hiring of defensive pass game coordinator Mathieu Araujo and offensive run game coordinator Brian Picucci. The moves come a day after the team announced that offensive coordinator Grant Udinski and defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile will be back for the 2026 season.
Araujo spent the last four seasons with the Dolphins and was the team’s cornerbacks coach for the last two years. He interviewed for the Jets defensive coordinator job, but they wound up hiring Araujo’s Miami colleague Brian Duker for the role.
Picucci was the offensive line coach for the Buccaneers in 2025 and their assistant line coach in 2024. Coen was the offensive coordinator in Tampa in 2024 and also worked with Coen at Kentucky in 2023.
