Barring a setback, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is expected to return to the lineup Sunday, Stephen Holder of ESPN reports.
Richardson practiced all three days this week, putting him on track to get back under center.
Coach Shane Steichen said Richardson “had huge strides this week, for sure.”
Richardson took the majority of the first-team reps this week after Joe Flacco did the same last week before starting in place of Richardson, who injured his oblique against the Steelers on Sept. 29.
Richardson has played only eight of a possible 22 games since the Colts made him a first-round pick in 2023, and he has missed significant portions of of three of the games he has played.
He has completed only 50.6 percent of his passes for 654 yards with three touchdowns and a league-leading six interceptions.
Titans quarterback Will Levis has practiced all week and he’ll be playing on Sunday.
Head coach Brian Callahan said at his Friday press conference that Levis will get the start against the Colts this weekend. Levis was knocked out of the team’s Week Four win over the Dolphins with a right shoulder injury, but the extra time off provided by the bye week helped clear the path for his return to action.
Mason Rudolph replaced Levis against Miami and will be back in the No. 2 role this week.
Callahan said that the Titans will also have defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons back after he missed Week Four with an elbow injury.
Safety Jamal Adams (hip) and defensive lineman Keondre Coleman (knee) have been ruled out by the Titans.
A report this week indicated that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is expected to miss multiple weeks with a back injury, but the Colts aren’t ruling him out for this Sunday’s game against the Titans.
Pittman missed the first two days of practice this week, but reporters at the open portion of practice on Friday noted that he was in uniform and taking reps along with his teammates. Head coach Shane Steichen didn’t specify his level of participation at a press conference and he didn’t say Pittman will be out of action this weekend.
The team’s injury report will bring more info on both his participation and his injury designation for the weekend.
Quarterback Anthony Richardson also remains in play for the weekend. He practiced on a limited basis despite the oblique injury that kept him from playing last Sunday.
Running back Jonathan Taylor is the only player who has been ruled out. Taylor missed last week’s loss to the Jaguars with an ankle injury as well.
The NFL Players Association has named Titans linebacker Ernest Jones their Community MVP for Week Six.
Jones traveled to his hometown of Waycross, Georgia during the team’s bye week and organized a relief event through his foundation for people impacted by Hurricane Helene. Jones partnered with local food trucks to provide hot meals to more than 400 people.
“I believe we all have a responsibility to inspire change and use our platforms to make a meaningful, positive impact,” Jones said in a statement.
The NFLPA will donate $10,000 to Jones’s foundation or the charity of his choice. He will also join the other weekly winners in being eligible for the Alan Page Award at the end of the year.
Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is trending toward returning for Sunday’s game against the Titans.
Richardson (oblique) was upgraded to a full participant in Thursday’s practice after he was limited on Wednesday.
The second-year QB missed last Sunday’s game against Jacksonville after suffering the injury in the Week 4 matchup with Pittsburgh.
Richardson was limited in all three practices in Week 5. He said on Wednesday that he was feeling “way better” than he did last week.
If Richardson is ultimately unable to play, Joe Flacco would be in line to start.
While Richardson is trending positively, running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) remained out of practice. Receivers Josh Downs (toe) and Michael Pittman Jr. (back) also remained out while cornerback Kenny Moore (hip, shoulder) was downgraded from limited to DNP.
Pittman is reportedly set to miss multiple weeks with his back injury.
Running back Trey Sermon (collarbone) and offensive tackle Braden Smith (knee, ankle) were upgraded from DNP to full. Center Ryan Kelly (neck) remained full.
