The pull of Manchester United and Jose Mourinho is appearing to be a match made in heaven.

After signing Eric Bailly for $40 million, securing the signature of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, having a deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan all but secured and being heavily linked with Mexican sensation Hirving Lozano, it is believed another world class talent could be heading to Old Trafford.

Multiple reports from France are stating that Blaise Matuidi flew to England on Monday morning to try and work on his future, with the French version of Goal.com stating that Didier Descahmps allowed the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder to leave the French camp following their quarterfinal win over Iceland on Sunday.

Matuidi, 29, is expected to be back for France’s training session on Monday ahead of their huge semifinal clash against Germany in Marseille on Thursday, with the box-to-box midfielder having a big role to play. Against Iceland his sublime long ball found Olivier Giroud for the opening and the French team never looked back.

Yet, outlets in the UK are now linking Matuidi with a $26 million move to United (they say he flew to Manchester) and if you do some elementary dot connecting then it starts to take shape. The main man behind this incredible transfer spree for United is so-called “super agent” Mino Raiola who also represents Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan, as well as, you guessed it, Matuidi.

Matuidi has been on United’s wishlist for some time and it looked like he could be joining them in 2014 but he instead decided to remain at PSG.

However, with PSG’s new manager Unai Emery looking to make big chances at Les Parisiens this summer, Matuidi could be one of those players made available after the arrival of Hatem Ben Arfa and Grzegorz Krychowiak in central midfield. Plus, with Paul Pogba’s price escalating by the day, Matuidi would be a good buy for United to improve the industry and bite in central midfield. Mourinho loves those type of midfield destroyers with Nemanja Matic coming to mind as a perfect example.

It has also been rumored in the gossip columns that Juan Mata could be leaving Manchester United, while James Rodriguez could be arriving at PSG.

Looks like some rather large dominoes are about to start falling...
