De’Aaron Fox poured in a team-high 24 points (10-of-19 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday’s win over the Pacers.
San Antonio had little trouble taking care of business against the floundering Pacers with Fox reaching the 20-point plateau for the fourth time in his last six contests since December 21. It would’ve been an even bigger night from a scoring standpoint had he not been ice-cold from three-point range where he went just 2-of-9 in an uncharacteristically poor effort. The 28-year-old guard will be asked to shoulder more of the scoring workload with Victor Wembanyama (knee) likely to miss a couple additional games. The Spurs are back in action on Saturday night when they face the Trail Blazers to close out a back-to-back.

Buddy Hield amassed 16 points (6-of-9 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, one steal and four three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Heat.
Why Celtics-Pistons was 'a proving ground game'
Terry Gannon, Robbie Hummel and Brian Scalabrine unpack the "proving ground game" between the Celtics and Pistons and the identities of both teams in what could be a precursor to the playoffs.
  • Brandin Podziemski accumulated 24 points (9-of-19 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, one steal and three three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Heat.
  • GSW Center #21
Quinten Post finished Monday’s win over the Heat with 15 points (5-of-7 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four three-pointers.
  • GSW Guard #30
Stephen Curry accumulated 19 points (6-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, 11 assists and five three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Heat.
  • GSW Forward #10
Jimmy Butler III (knee) will not return to Monday’s game against the Heat.
Butler injured his right knee early in the third quarter, as his leg buckled inward on a drive to the basket. He remained down on the court for several minutes before walking back to the locker room with the assistance of two teammates. More will be learned about the severity of Butler’s injury on Tuesday, but a prolonged absence could be a crushing blow to the Warriors’ postseason hopes.
  • DET Forward #12
Tobias Harris led the Pistons with 25 points (11-of-20 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one block and three triples against the Celtics on Monday.
Harris exited early from Saturday’s game, though the reason wasn’t specified. However, if there was something bothering him then, it didn’t seem to carry over into this game. His 25 points were the most he’s had in a game since November. He hasn’t been a great fantasy option this season, but since returning from a five-game absence with a hip injury, he has been effective. He’ll look to remain hot in New Orleans on Wednesday.
  • DET Guard #2
Cade Cunningham recorded a double-double on Monday with 16 points (4-of-17 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), three rebounds, 14 assists, one steal and two blocks in a 104-103 win over the Celtics.
Cunningham was named an All-Star starter earlier in the day, and while he didn’t have an effective night as a shooter, he was able to record a double-double. His work as a playmaker made up for the lack of scoring, and it was enough for Detroit to get the win. It has been a rough three-game stretch for him as a scorer, and he’ll look to get back on track in New Orleans on Wednesday.
  • BOS Guard #9
Derrick White struggled on Monday and finished with just four points (1-of-11 FGs), nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks against the Pistons.
White has had an excellent season despite a poor field goal percentage, but the last few games have been rough for him as a scorer. Over his last three games, White is averaging 6.3 points per game on 22.7 percent shooting. However, he’s also averaging 6.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.7 blocks per game during that stretch. He’ll get back on track offensively, but it is encouraging that he can still make an impact even when he’s ineffective as a scorer.
  • BOS Guard #11
Payton Pritchard returned to the lineup on Monday and contributed 17 points (5-of-8 FGs), three rebounds, three assists and three three-pointers against the Pistons.
Pritchard was back in the lineup after missing his first game of the season on Saturday. The game before that, he was held to a season-low two points, but he was able to get back on track in this one. He didn’t contribute big numbers, but he was efficient as a scorer. Pritchard has been productive for most of the season and should have no issues getting back on track against the Pacers on Wednesday.
  • BOS Guard-Forward #7
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics on Monday with 32 points (11-of-28 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), 11 rebounds, two assists, one block and two three-pointers in a 104-103 loss to the Pistons.
Hours after he was named an All-Star starter, Brown led the Celtics in scoring. Unfortunately, his game-winning shot attempt didn’t fall, so he wasn’t able to cap the night in dramatic fashion. Still, it was another excellent scoring performance for him, even if it didn’t come efficiently. Brown has been fantastic all season and will continue to be one of the best scorers in the league. He’ll look to keep it going against the Pacers on Wednesday.
