Josh Giddey (ankle) will not be restricted during training camp.

Giddey, who underwent right ankle surgery in May, was cleared to play 5-on-5 in early September. He’ll be able to practice without any restrictions when the Bulls open training camp on Tuesday. When available, Giddey offered excellent fantasy value last season, especially in assists. With Norman Powell, Caleb Wilson and Nic Claxton among the newcomers, Giddey could crack double digits in that category after averaging a career-best 9.1 assists per game last season.
Buddy Hield

Buddy Hield was acquired by the Bulls from the Hornets in exchange for Rob Dillingham, reports ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The Bulls also acquired cash as part of the deal. Chicago gets a veteran shooter in Hield, who was traded by the Hawks earlier this week. He averaged 7.6 points in 51 games last season. Hield can still shoot, but doesn’t offer much more to fantasy managers at this point in his career.
Rob Dillingham

Rob Dillingham was acquired by the Charlotte Hornets from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Buddy Hield and cash, reports ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The Hornets create a $9.4 million trade exception as part of the deal. The Bulls get cash to make up for the difference in salaries. Dillingham averaged 9.6 points in 30 games with the Bulls last season. He should have a regular bench role with the Hornets.
Josh Giddey

Josh Giddey (ankle) has been cleared to play 5-on-5 with no restrictions.

Giddey, who missed 28 games last season with the majority of his absences due to a strained left hamstring, underwent right ankle surgery in May. Given a three-month re-evaluation timeline, the Bulls’ starting point guard recently resumed playing 5-on-5 and has not been restricted in any way. With Giddey now a full go, fantasy managers can approach their drafts with the mindset that he’ll be able to hit the ground running. With the additions of Caleb Wilson and Nic Claxton to the Bulls’ roster, Giddey is a legitimate threat to push his assist average into double figures next season (he averaged 9.1 helpers per game in 2025-26).

NBA insider Marc Stein reports that Nick Richards is a “prime candidate” to sign with the Heat.

The Heat continue filling out their roster, most recently signing Klay Thompson to a two-year deal. However, they still need interior depth, and Richards is reportedly under consideration. Stein’s report aligns with those of Heat beat reporters in recent days. However, if he were to sign with the Heat, Richards’ addition would not have a significant impact on fantasy basketball.
Caleb Wilson

Caleb Wilson notched 21 points (7-of-15 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer in Thursday’s loss to the Lakers.

Wilson may have shot the ball reasonably well on Thursday, but this was his worst showing in Las Vegas by some distance. More damaging than the 1-of-6 day from beyond the arc was the turnover count, as the lottery pick was responsible for eight. Wilson has said he does not plan to sit at all, but the Bulls will have nothing to play for in their fifth and final game. And his absence could create opportunities for fellow first-round pick Dailyn Swain (four points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal), who has struggled throughout Chicago’s time in Las Vegas.
Jaylin Sellers

Jaylin Seller accounted for 24 points (7-of-12 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), one rebound, three assists, three steals, one block and two three-pointers in Tuesday’s win over the Wizards.

Not selected in last month’s draft, Sellers agreed to a two-way contract with the Bulls shortly after the annual selection meeting concluded. During an in-game interview on Tuesday, the former Providence guard said that his goal is to become one of the best defenders in the league. While there’s plenty of work to be done, Sellers showed off the tenacity required to make that dream a reality. The three steals and one blocked shot were excellent production for the guard, who also had a big night on the scoring end. Sellers is unlikely to affect fantasy basketball next season, but the Bulls’ rebuild could lead to him getting credible minutes on occasion.
Caleb Wilson

Caleb Wilson finished Tuesday’s win over the Wizards with 19 points (7-of-15 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and two three-pointers.

After losses in his first two summer league games, Wilson got his first victory on Tuesday. The showdown between him and AJ Dybantsa never materialized, as the Wizards shut down the first overall pick, as well as Tre Johnson and Will Riley. Wilson knocked down two more three-pointers, and the perimeter shot that was his big weakness going into the draft has been an asset in Las Vegas. With the Bulls rebuilding and clearly viewing him as a key building block, one can make a case for Wilson being the first rookie off the board in drafts this fall.
Noa Essengue

Noa Essengue accounted for six points (1-of-4 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in Monday’s loss to the Jazz.

Essengue logged just 18 minutes on Monday and appeared to injure his right thumb on a fall during the second half. He remained in the game after getting his hand taped, but the last thing he needs is another injury after playing only two games as a rookie. The good news for Chicago is that Essengue has been active defensively in the team’s first two games, totaling four steals and six blocks. Even with the acquisition of Nic Claxton, Essengue should have ample opportunities to prove himself during the regular season.
Dailyn Swain

Dailyn Swain finished Monday’s loss to the Jazz with four points (0-of-9 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), nine rebounds and one assist.

While Caleb Wilson has been the toast of summer league, Chicago’s other 2026 first-round pick has struggled mightily in Las Vegas. Swain missed all nine of his field-goal attempts on Monday, including a few layups that failed to draw iron. The good news is that this is “only” summer league, but it would do wonders for Swain’s confidence if he could get going before the end of the week. The Bulls play again on Tuesday, and giving Wilson a day off could make Swain the offensive focal point.
