Kevin Huerter (adductor) is doubtful for Game 2 against the Cavaliers on Thursday.

Huerter missed Game 1, which was his fourth consecutive absence in the playoffs. Still dealing with a left adductor strain and listed as doubtful for Game 2, Huerter is unlikely to make his return on Thursday. Without Huerter, Duncan Robinson, Javonte Green and Daniss Jenkins take on additional importance because of their outside shooting.

Duncan Robinson amassed 19 points (7-of-12 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), two assists, two steals and five three-pointers in the win over the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Robinson’s production mostly came in the second half of Tuesday’s win. His three triples after halftime were huge in helping the Pistons keep the Cavaliers at enough of a distance after having built a lead. He came up with a couple of steals but didn’t contribute much in other areas, as expected for the three-point specialist. Robinson has now made multiple threes in all but one of Detroit’s eight playoff games thus far.

Jalen Duren totaled 11 points (4-of-11 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in Tuesday’s win over the Cavaliers.

Shooting inefficiency left Duren unable to deliver the scoring impact that helped make him an All-Star this regular season. However, he crashed the offensive glass extremely well, using seven on that end of the floor to total double-digit boards altogether. The fourth-year center also showed off his rim protection and even made contributions on the offensive end as a passer. Once Duren finds his rhythm as a scorer, he’ll be back to putting forth some strong final stat lines.

DET Guard #2

Cade Cunningham finished Tuesday’s win over the Cavaliers with 23 points (6-of-19 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs), three rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two three-pointers.

Despite not shooting the basketball well, Cunningham was plenty effective in Game 1. He was a plus-12 in his 42 minutes of game action, which concluded as one of Detroit’s best. He, unsurprisingly, was the Pistons’ leader in assists and was one of only two players to make multiple three-point shots on the evening. Cunngham’s numbers on Tuesday pale in comparison to some of the final lines he notched in the opening round against the Magic, bu he’ll have a chance to get back on track in Game 2.

Kevin Huerter (adductor) will not play against the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Huerter will miss his fourth consecutive playoff game for Detroit. The ninth-year guard has come off the bench and played a minimal role thus far during the postseason, though still a part of the regular rotation. His absence leaves the Pistons without a key three-point shooter in the opening game against the Cavaliers.

Huerter missed the final three games of the Pistons’ first-round series against the Magic. His absence factored into Cade Cunningham’s playing time increasing, but Detroit was also looking to erase a 3-1 deficit. If Huerter can’t play on Tuesday, it’s possible that Daniss Jenkins and Javonte Green are asked to play more.

Jalen Duren totaled 15 points (5-of-9 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), 15 rebounds, three assists and one steal in the win over the Magic on Sunday.

Duren recorded his first double-double of the season on Sunday to help the Pistons win three straight games and complete the series comeback to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Sunday’s win marked the first-time All-Star’s highest scoring total of the series, and was also the first time he collected double-digit rebounds. He’ll look to have a much more consistent second round, but his performance in Game 7 should provide him with the necessary momentum to start off the next series productively.

Cade Cunningham added 32 points (10-of-18 FGs, 3-of-10 FTs), one rebound, 12 assists, two blocks and four three-pointers in the win over the Magic on Sunday.

Cunningham was sensational, once again, on Sunday. He logged a second consecutive 32-point outing, this time adding a series-best 12 assists to help the Pistons reel off three straight wins to save their season. The former first-overall pick averaged 36.3 points in the three elimination games and scored at least 30 points in more than half of the seven games. Cunningham’s versatility undoubtedly is the driving force of this Pistons offense — Detroit will count on him to lead the way offensively in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Tobias Harris added 30 points (11-of-18 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), nine rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and five three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Magic.

Harris spent much of the series punishing his former employer. His series-high 30-point outing on Sunday put the finishing touches on a seven-game showing in which he averaged a strong 21.6 points and 8.1 rebounds. He led Detroit in three-pointers in Game 7 and tied a team high with four stocks. The veteran forward often functioned as the Pistons’ second-best performer throughout the series. He’ll be counted on in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Kevin Huerter (adductor) is out for Sunday’s Game 7 against the Magic.

Sunday’s series decider will be the third game that Huerter has missed due to a strained left adductor. Given what’s on the line, the Pistons will continue to lean heavily on Cade Cunningham, who has played 44 and 42 minutes in the two games that Huerter has missed.
