Jalen Duren finished Sunday’s loss to the Magic with eight points (3-of-4 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist and one block.

Relative to his regular-season production, Duren had an underwhelming performance in Sunday’s opener. He was hardly involved across his 33 minutes, taking just four total shots. The result was a single-digit scoring performance from the first-time NBA All-Star and a team worst minus-21. If the Pistons want to avoid falling two games behind in the series on Wednesday, they’ll almost certainly need more on both ends of the floor from Duren.

Tobias Harris tallied 17 points (5-of-15 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer in the loss to the Magic on Sunday.

Harris was one of several Pistons players to struggle on the offensive end on Sunday. He was particularly inefficient from beyond the arc and had to often rely on getting to the free-throw line to produce. Still, he was productive enough to score above his regular-season average and was the only non-Cade Cunningham Piston to reach double figures in points. As one of the team’s veterans, Harris could be relied on for more offensive output in Wednesday’s Game 2.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 39 points (13-of-27 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), five rebounds, four assists and three three-pointers in Game 1’s loss to the Magic on Sunday.

Cunningham led all players in scoring on Sunday, nearly logging as many points as minutes played. The points came from all levels — the three-point line, midrange, and at the rim — while he also did damage at the charity stripe. Yet, the superstar point guard couldn’t manage to get his teammates going as effectively as he had done throughout the regular season, as reflected in the four total assists he generated. Nonetheless, Cunningham did a lot for the Pistons on the offensive end on Sunday, and will need his teammates to make larger contributions in Game 2. Tobias Harris was the only other Detroit player to score in double figures on Sunday.

Jalen Duren, Cade Cunningham, Duncan Robinson, Ausar Thompson and Tobias Harris will start against the Magic on Sunday.

With Duren back in the lineup after missing the regular-season finale, Detroit will have its regular starting five for Game 1 on Sunday. The Pistons posted their first 60-win season in 20 years en route to securing the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed. They will face a Magic team that is just a couple of days removed from knocking off the Charlotte Hornets in the Play-In Tournament.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Cade Cunningham and Luka Doncic will be eligible for all 2025-26 season honors after challenging the NBA’s 65-game award rule.

The NBA ruled in favor of Cunningham and Doncic on their Extraordinary Circumstances Challenge for the 65-game award rule. Both players will now be eligible for season honors such as MVP and All-NBA teams. Doncic missed two games in December due to the birth of his child and Cunningham suffered a collapsed lung. Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards also filed a challenge, but was denied and is not eligible for awards, according to Charania.

Tobias Harris had 24 points (9-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, three steals and four three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Pacers.

The Pistons had already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, but earned their 60th win in the road victory. While Harris and the Pistons have their eyes set on the postseason, the power forward is turning 34 this offseason and set to hit free agency.

Paul Reed had 26 points (11-of-11 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks in the Pistons’ 133-121 victory over the Pacers on Sunday.

Reed started and played 22 minutes with Jalen Duren (knee) out Sunday. The 26-year-old center had another excellent game filling in for the Pistons’ All-Star big man. Reed literally didn’t miss. His ability is an open secret, but fantasy managers will have to wait until Reed has a starting role of his own for his fantasy stock to truly ascend.

Duren is the lone Pistons regular on the injury report for Sunday’s regular-season finale, even though Detroit’s playoff seeding won’t be affected by the outcome. Isaiah Stewart is available, but most of Duren’s minutes may be absorbed by Paul Reed, as Beef Stew only recently returned from a strained calf.

Duncan Robinson had 19 points (6-of-11 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and three three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Hornets.

The Pistons played their starters and though Robinson only played 26 minutes he was efficient. The 31-year-old small forward had 19 points on 11 attempts from the field, which included going 3-of-7 from behind the three-point line. Robinson had a solid year with the Pistons and was useful to fantasy managers in deeper formats.
Cade Cunningham

Cade Cunningham had 14 points (7-of-13 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), two rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block in Friday’s win over the Hornets.

Playing for the second time since returning from a collapsed lung, Cunningham had a very similar game to his return against the Bucks on Wednesday. The 24-year-old point guard had 14 points on 13 attempts from the field and played 28 minutes. When Cunningham is completely healthy, he regularly plays over 30 minutes and takes over 20 shots per game. The Pistons are still taking it easy with their superstar, which is probably wise with Detroit already having clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
