Kam Jones (back) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Wizards.

Jones did not return to Thursday’s game after halftime, as he was ruled out with lower back soreness. The rookie logged 14 minutes off the bench, and afterward, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said that he hopes Jones can play in Friday’s rematch. He should be considered questionable, with his absence potentially meaning more minutes for fellow rookie Taelon Peter if Jones can’t play.

Aaron Nesmith (ankle) will not be available for Friday’s game against the Wizards.

Nesmith exited Thursday’s loss to the Wizards during the second quarter and did not return, logging 15 minutes before spraining his right ankle. He’s already been ruled out for Friday’s rematch, which likely means a return to the starting lineup for Kobe Brown. Brown started the third quarter and finished with 12 points, nine rebounds, one assist, one block and two three-pointers in 33 minutes. He’s worth streaming in deep leagues for Friday, especially with Pascal Siakam (personal) also out.

Taelon Peter accounted for 16 points (5-of-12 FGs, 1-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, two assists and five three-pointers in Thursday’s loss to the Wizards.

After recording career-highs in points (14) and three-pointers (four) in the Pacers’ final game before the All-Star break, Peter broke those marks on Thursday. T.J. McConnell (hamstring) being out freed up a few more minutes for the second-round pick, and he took advantage of his opportunity. Eleven of Peter’s 12 shot attempts came from beyond the arc, knocking down five. Peter’s opportunities moving forward depend on the availability of Indiana’s more experienced guards, as well as rookie Kam Jones, who was limited to 14 minutes due to a lower back issue.

Jay Huff tallied 15 points (3-of-8 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one three-pointer in Thursday’s loss to the Wizards.

The good news for fantasy managers who have Huff rostered is that he provided solid value in points, rebounds and blocked shots in Thursday’s defeat. The bad news is that he logged 21 minutes, although the back-to-back may have been a factor. Micah Potter (14 points, six rebounds, one assist and two three-pointers) logged 27 minutes off the bench, and those roles may reverse in Friday’s rematch.
Jarace Walker

Jarace Walker finished Thursday’s loss to the Wizards with 21 points (6-of-16 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one three-pointer.

While Andrew Nembhard (5/1/4 with one three-pointer) was available for Thursday’s game, he logged 22 minutes and wasn’t on the court down the stretch. Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle put the ball in Walker’s hands for longer stretches, and while he was responsible for five turnovers, the third-year forward recorded one of his best stat lines of the season. And with Pascal Siakam (personal) already ruled out for Friday’s rematch, Walker is worth rostering.

Kam Jones (back) has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday’s game against the Wizards.

Jones was ruled out before the start of the second half of Thursday’s contest, along with Aaron Nesmith. Before exiting with back soreness, Jones logged 14 minutes and added four points on 2-of-2 shooting. Should he miss any significant time, it shouldn’t have much of an impact on fantasy basketball.

Nesmith suffered a sprained right ankle during the first half of Thursday’s game and was ruled out during the halftime break. He finished with three points, two rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes. Kobe Brown started the third quarter for Nesmith, and he may be the starter for Friday’s rematch as well.

Andrew Nembhard, Ben Sheppard, Aaron Nesmith, Jarace Walker and Jay Huff will start Thursday’s game against the Wizards.

Nembhard and Nesmith are back after missing the Pacers’ final game before the All-Star break, but Pascal Siakam (personal) is not. His continued absence means that Walker will get another start, while the returns of Nembhard and Nesmith push Kam Jones and Kobe Brown to the bench.

Siakam was already ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Wizards for personal reasons. The 31-year-old power forward is now set to miss the next two games, which are both against the Wizards. Jarace Walker will move into the starting lineup and is worth streaming in Siakam’s absence.
