Naz Reid (ankle) finished Sunday’s Game 4 win over the Spurs with 15 points (6-of-12 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), nine rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Reid, who finished one rebound shy of a double-double, rolled his right ankle early in the fourth quarter of Game 4. The good news is that he returned later in the quarter, providing key contributions as the Timberwolves evened the series at two games apiece. Game 5 is on Tuesday night, so Reid won’t have too long to rest his injured ankle. Don’t be surprised if he shows up on the preliminary injury report.
Rudy Gobert

Rudy Gobert accounted for 11 points (4-of-7 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 13 rebounds, four assists and one block in Sunday’s Game 4 win over the Spurs.

Gobert has reached double digits in rebounds in four of his last five playoff games, with Sunday’s tally being the most for him since Game 6 of the first-round series against Denver. With Victor Wembanyama getting ejected just over three minutes into the second quarter, Gobert spent most of the night competing with Luke Kornet for rebounds and points in the paint. That won’t be the case for Game 5 on Tuesday, but the “Stifle Tower” has held his own more often than not. The winner of Tuesday’s game will take a 3-2 series lead.
Jaden McDaniels

MIN Forward #3

Jaden McDaniels recorded 14 points (6-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) and six rebounds in Sunday’s Game 4 win over the Spurs.

After shooting 5-of-22 from the field in Game 3, McDaniels was a bit more efficient in Game 4. He didn’t record any assists or defensive stats on Sunday, but that did not prove problematic on a night when San Antonio lost Victor Wembanyama to a second-quarter ejection. With the series now a best-of-3, the Timberwolves are going to need more production from McDaniels, who has scored 17 points or fewer in each of the first four games. Game 5 is on Tuesday in San Antonio.
Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards tallied 36 points (13-of-22 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, one steal and three three-pointers in Sunday’s Game 4 win over the Spurs.

Even with Victor Wembanyama being ejected during the second quarter, the Timberwolves found themselves in a dogfight throughout Game 4. As superstars are expected to do, Edwards stepped up when his team needed him most. The Timberwolves’ guard scored 16 points in the fourth quarter, helping Minnesota pull even at two games apiece. Edwards logged 40 minutes in Game 4, and that may be his floor for the rest of this series. Game 5 is on Tuesday in San Antonio.
Ayo Dosunmu

MIN Guard #13

Ayo Dosunmu, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert will start Sunday’s Game 4 against the Spurs.

After coming off the bench in his return to action on Friday, Dosunmu moves into the starting lineup for Sunday night. As a result, Mike Conley will head to the bench and could fall out of the rotation entirely. With Dosunmu available, Conley played four minutes in Friday’s Game 3 defeat despite remaining in the starting lineup.
Naz Reid

Naz Reid amassed 18 points (6-of-13 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks and four three-pointers in Friday’s Game 3 loss to the Spurs.

Reid has reached double figures in six consecutive playoff games, with Friday’s 18 points being the most in a game for him this postseason. Add in the rebounds, assists and blocks, and the Timberwolves’ forward/center was solid in his 32 minutes. However, given the opponent, the Timberwolves may need a little more from Reid if they’re to win this series, especially if Julius Randle continues to struggle as he has the last two games. Game 4 is on Sunday night in Minneapolis.
Jaden McDaniels

Jaden McDaniels accounted for 17 points (5-of-22 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three three-pointers in Friday’s Game 3 loss to the Spurs.

McDaniels shot 3-of-8 from beyond the arc in Game 3, but he had a brutal night from two. The Timberwolves’ forward made two of his 14 two-point attempts in one of the worst performances of his postseason career. McDaniels did record a complete stat line, but with Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) out and Julius Randle (12 points, six rebounds and one steal) also struggling, the Timberwolves don’t have much margin for error against the Spurs.
Anthony Edwards

MIN Guard #5

Anthony Edwards finished Friday’s Game 3 loss to the Spurs with 32 points (12-of-26 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), 14 rebounds, six assists, one block and three three-pointers.

Limited to 25 minutes in Games 1 and 2, Edwards was under no restrictions for Game 3. He still isn’t playing at full strength, but the Timberwolves star managed to log 41 minutes on Friday. And Edwards was highly productive, becoming the second player in franchise history to record at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a playoff game. Terrence Shannon Jr., who started the first two games for Edwards, played 28 minutes in Game 3, finishing with five points, two rebounds, two assists and one three-pointer. The Timberwolves will look to even the series at two games apiece on Sunday night.

After coming off the bench in the first two games of this series, Edwards returns to the starting lineup for Game 3. The change pushes Terrence Shannon Jr. to the bench, but the second-year wing should remain in the rotation since Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) is done for the season.

Dosunmu, who did not play in the series opener, was limited to 10 minutes in Game 2 due to a sore right heel. His return should give the Timberwolves a needed boost off the bench, but only if he’s able to play through the heel and calf issues.
