Zyon Pullin records another 24-point stat line

Zyon Pullin recorded 24 points (8-of-16 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, three assists and two three-pointers in Saturday’s loss to the Nuggets.

For the second consecutive game, Pullin provided efficient offensive production from the point guard position. This offseason is key for the 6-foot-4 guard, who is looking to lock down a concrete role for himself in Minnesota. Given the Timberwolves’ depth at point guard, that may be challenging. However, Pullin can certainly make the decision a difficult one for head coach Chris Finch and the rest of the coaching staff. Playing as well as Pullin has in Las Vegas certainly helps his case.

Isaiah Stewart (ankle) finished Monday’s exhibition against the Hawks with one rebound.

Stewart, acquired from the Pistons in late June, played just two minutes on Monday before exiting wth a left ankle injury. The forward/center landed awkwardly after attempting to block a shot and did not return. With Zach Edey still out, Quinten Post (eight points, four rebounds and two three-pointers) would have added fantasy value if neither is available when the regular season begins. Post started Monday’s game and logged 12 minutes.

Kel’el Ware tallied 14 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 12 rebounds, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in Monday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Ware came off the bench in his unofficial Bucks debut, but that didn’t prevent the 7-footer from showing why he still has a top-100 ADP. He was highly active on both ends of the floor, recording a double-double and shooting 2-of-6 from beyond the arc. Given starting center Myles Turner’s (seven points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block, and one three-pointer) rebounding struggles last season, Ware will have consistent fantasy value, even if he doesn’t start.

Ryan Rollins notched 15 points (6-of-12 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in Monday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Rollins’ defensive aggression helped Milwaukee hold Minnesota’s reserves to 21 points in the third quarter. However, that also contributed to him fouling out in 14 minutes of play. Rollins averaged 2.6 fouls per game during his breakout 2025-26 season, so there should not be any concern coming out of Monday’s game. In fact, the biggest takeaway is that he started with Kevin Porter Jr. (seven points, three rebounds, and two assists) coming off the bench. The question is whether head coach Taylor Jenkins will stick with this lineup or give KPJ opportunities to make the starting point guard job his own. If Rollins starts, he’ll have the opportunity to show that last season wasn’t a fluke.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. recorded five points (2-of-7 FGs), one rebound, one assist and one three-pointer in Monday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

After finishing second in NBA Sixth Man of the Year voting last season, the move from Miami to Milwaukee could propel Jaquez into a starting role. He was with the starters in Monday’s preseason opener, logging 18 minutes. His usage rate was third among Bucks starters behind Ryan Rollins and Tyler Herro, suggesting Jaquez should get supplementary playmaking opportunities. While the production wasn’t great, remaining a starter would improve his fantasy outlook and make Jaime a must-draft player.

Tyler Herro accounted for 11 points (3-of-9 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), three rebounds, three assists and two three-pointers in Monday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Playing in a Bucks uniform for the first time, Herro logged 19 minutes and was one of four players in double figures for the home team. He took nine shots, second-most among Bucks starters, with only Ryan Rollins taking more (12). Milwaukee’s backcourt is crowded right now, but that shouldn’t be a major issue for Herro. If he’s one of the offensive focal points, Herro is a safe bet to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2025-26.

Joan Beringer accounted for 12 points (5-of-8 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds and one blocked shot in Monday’s exhibition against the Bucks.

Is Beringer a must-draft player in standard leagues? No. However, with the Timberwolves trading Julius Randle and Naz Reid, the second-year pivot has room to earn rotation minutes behind starter Rudy Gobert. Beringer looked comfortable on the court, even attacking the Bucks’ defense off the dribble for a spinning layup in one second-half play. Redraft league managers, especially those competing in deeper leagues, should watch Beringer and his role during the preseason.

Jonathan Kuminga amassed eight points (2-of-4 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs) and two rebounds in Monday’s exhibition against the Bucks.

Signed to a two-year deal in late August, Kuminga was the Timberwolves’ fifth starter on Monday. While he didn’t have a prolific outing in his unofficial debut, the opportunity to start gives JK a clearer path to fantasy relevance. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, Ayo Dosunmu (five points, three rebounds and one three-pointer) offers a higher fantasy floor than Kuminga, especially in category leagues. However, JK is worth watching if he remains in the starting lineup.

LaMelo Ball tallied 11 points (3-of-6 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two three-pointers in Monday’s exhibition against the Bucks.

Making his unofficial Timberwolves debut, Ball played 17 minutes in the first half in Milwaukee. While you can’t take too much from one game, he played efficiently and committed just one turnover. Combining Ball with Anthony Edwards (14 points, four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one three-pointer) gives Minnesota a backcourt that’s far more dangerous off the dribble than last year’s group. And an efficient Ball can be one of the most effective point guards in fantasy basketball, regardless of league format.

Cade Cunningham tallied 10 points (3-of-8 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 16 minutes as the Pistons defeated the Suns 109-107 in preseason action on Monday.

Cunningham was at the controls for Detroit as they kicked off their exhibition slate with nearly every key piece of their rotation, with the exception of center Jalen Duren, who recently signed a five-year, $200 million contract following a tumultuous offseason that came on the heels of a disappointing playoff performance. There are legitimate questions about whether Detroit’s decision not to add any secondary scoring or playmaking help for Cunningham this offseason will eventually backfire. However, it virtually guarantees that he’ll be in line for another high-volume offensive season. Cunningham should be a borderline first-round pick in all upcoming fantasy drafts.

Devin Booker finished with a team-leading 13 points (4-of-7 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), three rebounds and three assists over 15 minutes in Monday’s preseason loss to the Pistons.

Booker, Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green all scored in double figures as Phoenix carried a 68-50 lead into halftime. The trio will be essential to the Suns’ chances of making it back to the postseason with Booker representing their primary offensive catalyst. The 29-year-old veteran scoring machine is a relatively low-risk top-60 range selection in the early rounds of fantasy drafts this fall.
