Good news for Pelicans fans and for NBA fans in general: Anthony Davis, who underwent knee surgery in March that cut short his 2015-16 season and forced him to miss the Olympics, has been cleared to return to the court and has been scrimmaging with his teammates ahead of training camp, according to the team:
Following a playoff appearance in 2015, the Pelicans were poised for a leap forward in the Western Conference standings, until their season was derailed by injuries to literally every important player on the roster. Davis, seen before the start of the season as an MVP candidate, put up excellent individual stats in the Pelicans’ disappointing season but the knee and shoulder injuries forced him to miss the last 14 games of the season and prevented him from playing with Team USA in Rio. It sounds like Davis will be ready to go when camp starts, and hopefully he’ll be able to stay healthy this season.
