Dirk Nowitzki pokes fun at his lack of speed after ESPN scouting report

Oklahoma City Thunder v Dallas Mavericks - Game Three

Dirk Nowitzki was never the fastest player in the NBA, but at 38 years old, what little speed he had is long gone. In his team previews, ESPN.com’s Kevin Pelton’s writeup of Nowitzki describes him as running “like he’s stick in cement,” which isn’t wrong. A follower brought this to Nowitzki’s attention, and he agreed with Pelton’s assessment.

Nowitzki went a step further, pointing out that, as slow as he is now, he was never fast before.

Nowitzki has always had a sense of humor about himself. This is just the latest example of that.
