There has still been no public resolution when it comes to Chris Bosh’s status or future chances of playing. After a recurrence of a blood clotting issue discovered during the All-Star break, Bosh missed the second half of last season as well as the playoffs, and his status has been up in the air since then. Bosh has made it very clear that he wants to play, but the Heat have been understandably hesitant to clear him because they don’t know what the long-term risks to his health are. According to the Miami Herald‘s Barry Jackson, however, the two sides have continued to talk and there’s some optimism that progress is being made.

As for Chris Bosh, the team hasn’t had any additional comment since Micky Arison’s see you in training camp tweet last Wednesday. Discussions remain focused on the Heat’s comfort level with Bosh taking new thinners that would be out of his system within eight hours or so, and ways for him to play while taking those type of thinners, according to an NBA-employed source.

The Heat is working on potential solutions and has said it would like to try to get him back on the court. Bosh very much wants to play and intends to (according to his wife). He still needs to be cleared by the Heat, and there will be some level of uncertainty until that happens. But the Heat is working on a solution, which has led to some optimism.

We will find out where things stand when training camp kicks off at the end of the month, and the idea of Bosh playing while on blood thinners seems like a massive risk. But it’s good that the two sides are still talking.
