Shai Gilgeous-Alexander accounted for 26 points (9-of-16 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), three rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s win over the Knicks.
Back in the lineup after sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Bulls, Gilgeous-Alexander had an efficient night at the office. He only attempted one three-pointer, but it was a big one, as SGA’s hit with 1:18 remaining in the fourth quarter gave Oklahoma City a 103-96 lead. The Knicks could pull no closer than three, missing two attempts to tie the game in the final seconds. The Thunder end their Week 19 on Saturday against the Warriors.
Chet Holmgren
OKC
Center-Forward
#7
Chet Holmgren finished Wednesday’s win over the Knicks with 28 points (11-of-19 FGs), eight rebounds, two assists and six three-pointers.
Holmgren started Wednesday’s game hot, scoring 14 points in the first quarter and finishing the half with 22 points and six three-pointers. The six triples matched his career-high. While Holmgren received more attention from the Knicks in the second half, the final line was excellent, aside from the lack of defensive production. The Thunder don’t play again until Saturday when they host the Warriors.
Alex Caruso
OKC
Guard
#9
Alex Caruso (left hip contusion) and Isaiah Hartenstein (left calf tightness) will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Knicks.
Caruso and Hartenstein suffered their injuries during the second half of Wednesday’s game and were ruled out late in the fourth quarter. Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins have seen their minutes increase in crunch time. Caruso finished with three points, four rebounds, one assist, two steals and one three-pointer, with Hartenstein going scoreless with five rebounds and two assists.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
OKC
Guard
#2
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Luguentz Dort, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein will start Wednesday’s game against the Knicks.
Gilgeous-Alexander and Hartenstein are back after sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Bulls. As a result, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins will return to the bench, eliminating their respective streaming values.
Branden Carlson
OKC
Center
#15
Branden Carlson (back) has been ruled out against the Knicks on Wednesday.
This will be a fourth straight absence for the big man. He is a depth option down low, so his continued absence won’t alter OKC’s rotation.
Isaiah Hartenstein
OKC
Center-Forward
#55
Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) is not on the injury report against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Hartenstein sat out the first leg of this back-to-back against Chicago but will return to take on New York. That will push Aaron Wiggins to the bench and take away minutes from Jaylin Williams.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
OKC
Guard
#2
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (core) is not on the injury report ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Knicks.
SGA sat out against Chicago on Tuesday, but he’ll be back to take on New York. Isaiah Joe played well as a starter in his place but will return to playing a reserve role with SGA available.
Jared McCain
OKC
Guard
#3
Jared McCain provided a boost off the bench with 20 points (8-of-15 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, two steals and four three-pointers in a 116-108 win over the Bulls on Tuesday.
While his former team was losing to the Spurs by 40, McCain was making a big impact off the bench for his new squad. McCain has scored in double figures in eight of his 11 appearances for the Thunder, including three 20-point games. McCain has been able to showcase the offensive juice that he had early on during his rookie season, and while they likely won’t lead to much fantasy production when the team is fully healthy, it has been a fun reminder that should be stored away for the future.
Jaylin Williams
OKC
Forward
#6
Jaylin Williams recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 17 points (6-of-11 FGs), 16 rebounds, six assists, one steal and three three-pointers against the Bulls.
Williams didn’t get the starting nod with Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) sidelined, but he did see a bump in minutes, which allowed him to stuff the stat sheet and set a new season high for rebounds. Williams has been able to pour in the stats when he has gotten the opportunity to play extended minutes this season. However, Hartenstein will likely return to play the Knicks on Wednesday, which will prevent Williams from repeating this performance.
Isaiah Joe
OKC
Guard
#11
Isaiah Joe started on Tuesday and contributed 19 points (7-of-15 FGs), two rebounds, one steal and two three-pointers against the Bulls.
With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdominal) and Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) out, Joe returned to the starting unit. This was the first leg of a back-to-back, so he will likely return to the bench against the Knicks on Wednesday. Joe has been excellent over the past month, though most of his strong performances have come as a starter. He isn’t consistent enough to be worth streaming in when he’s coming off the bench.
