Franz Wagner added 18 points (8-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in Friday’s win over the Mavericks.

Wagner scored the ball well in his 17 minutes of game action. He was aggressive, getting up 12 shots in that time, and was productive on the glass during his minutes. Arguably, the only thing that truly didn’t go his way on Friday was the three-point shooting, which hasn’t been a strength to this point in his career. Nonetheless, the fifth-year forward has shown encouraging signs as he continues to knock off the rust before the regular season ends. Given his low workload in his return from injury, it’s hard to know what kind of production to expect from him during the fantasy playoffs.
Desmond Bane

ORL Guard #3

Desmond Bane finished Friday’s win over the Mavericks with 27 points (8-of-13 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and three three-pointers.

Bane was effective on both ends of the floor on Friday, as his impact helped the Magic get back into the win column. Bane’s 27 points only trailed Wendell Carter Jr.'s 27 points for the most on the team. His three-point shooting was a factor, as was his ability to convert at the line. Additionally, the sixth-year guard tied a team high in rebounds, assists, and steals. Bane did it all for the Magic, and they’re going to need more of the same from him in an attempt to move up in the standings and out of the Play-In Tournament.
Wendell Carter

ORL Center-Forward #34

Wendell Carter Jr. amassed 28 points (8-of-16 FGs, 10-of-10 FTs), six rebounds, three assists and two three-pointers in the win over the Mavericks on Friday.

Carter’s 28 points led all Magic players on Friday, as Desmond Bane’s 27 points were the only other players’ in the vicinity. In 36 minutes, the veteran center was accurate outside the arc and really utilized the charity stripe to his advantage. Carter didn’t put up big numbers in any other statistical category. However, his high production as a scorer was enough to provide positive value from a fantasy standpoint.
Paolo Banchero

Paolo Banchero produced 11 points (3-of-9 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in Wednesday’s loss to the Hawks.

While the rebounds and assists were solid, Banchero’s overall performance on Wednesday was disappointing. The Magic forward attempted nine shots from the field, the fewest in a game for him since December 23. As well as Banchero played in Tuesday’s win over the Suns, the inability to sustain that production factored into Orlando getting blown out by the Hawks.
Wendell Carter

Wendell Carter Jr. finished Wednesday’s loss to the Hawks with 14 points (6-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot.

Carter’s 14 points were the most among Magic starters, with Jamal Cain (17 points, one rebound and two three-pointers) doing his damage off the bench. Carter has reached double figures in scoring in 11 of his last 12 appearances, and he’s been more consistent as a rebounder as well. As a result, the Magic center has been a top-100 player over the past three weeks. With Orlando playing two more games in Week 23, Carter would be worth a look in some 12-team leagues if he’s sitting on the waiver wire.

Franz Wagner recorded 12 points (5-of-13 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), one rebound and two assists in Wednesday’s loss to the Hawks.

Available to play for the first time since February 11, Wagner logged 20 minutes as part of the Magic starting lineup. The rust was most evident in his perimeter shot, with Wagner missing all six of his three-point attempts. Tristan da Silva, a fixture in the starting lineup while Wagner was out, played 23 minutes off the bench and finished with nine points (2-of-5 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, six assists and one steal. Orlando has games on Friday and Sunday, with the second being the first of two in as many nights. We’ll see if Wagner gets one or two more games during championship week in Yahoo! default leagues.
Goga Bitadze

Goga Bitadze was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the Hawks with 7:04 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Bitadze was issued a Flagrant 2 foul for taking down Hawks center Jock Landale from behind as he was attempting to convert a layup. Landale landed awkwardly on his right leg and went back to the locker room after attempting his free throws. Bitadze finished with four points, five rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

Jalen Suggs, Desmond Bane, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. will start Wednesday’s game against the Hawks.

Appearing in a game for the first time since February 11, Wagner is in the Magic starting lineup. His return pushes Tristan da Silva to the bench, but Wagner will be under an unspecified minutes limit.

Wagner, who last appeared in a game just before the All-Star break, is officially available for Wednesday’s game. He was used in a reserve role the last time he returned after an extended absence, so Tristan da Silva could remain with the starters for another game. And even if he doesn’t, the Magic are still without Anthony Black, so da Silva’s minutes should not take too significant of a hit.

Franz Wagner (ankle) is questionable to play against the Hawks on Wednesday.

Wagner hasn’t played since before the All-Star break and has only suited up four times since Dec. 8. Reports from Tuesday indicated that Wagner has progressed to 5-on-5, and it appears that he could be making his return against Atlanta. If he is back, Tristan da Silva will likely head back to the bench, though Wagner did come off the bench and played limited minutes in his two most recent appearances, so da Silva could maintain the role if they choose to do the same thing. Orlando is currently eighth in the East with seven games remaining in the regular season. Having Wagner healthy for the postseason will make them a difficult matchup for anyone.
