Jalen Suggs (knee) has been diagnosed with a right MCL contusion.

Suggs, who recently returned to action after suffering a hip injury during the Magic’s NBA Cup loss to the Knicks, is back on the shelf. While it was his left knee that required a season-ending procedure in the spring, the Magic guard injured his right knee during Friday’s loss to the Bulls. The team has not provided a timeline, so Suggs should be considered out indefinitely until one is provided. Tyus Jones will return to the starting lineup, but Anthony Black is the player fantasy managers should target.

Anthony Black had 18 points (8-of-16 FGs), two rebounds, seven assists, two steals, one block and two three-pointers in the Magic’s loss to the Bulls on Friday.

Black continued to display his improved scoring with 18 points against the Bulls on Friday. The 21-year-old shooting guard averaged 18.9 points per game in the month of December. Black has been a revelation for the Magic this year and remains one of their best fantasy options regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench.
Paolo Banchero

Paolo Banchero had 31 points (13-of-23 FGs, 3-of-7 FTs), six rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and two three-pointers against the Bulls on Friday.

Banchero continues to carry the offense with Franz Wagner out. The 23-year-old power forward has 84 points over his last three games. Unfortunately for the Magic, Banchero’s 31 points weren’t nearly enough as the game was out of reach late for the Magic. Orlando will have a chance to get back in the win column Sunday against the Pacers.
Jonathan Isaac

Jonathan Isaac (knee) is available for Friday’s game against the Bulls.

Isaac is set to return after missing Wednesday’s game against Indiana with a knee injury. The 28-year-old power forward is averaging just 10.4 minutes per game this season. Isaac isn’t worth rostering in most fantasy leagues.

Jett Howard (illness) is not on the injury report for Friday’s game against the Bulls.

Howard did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Pacers. While his absence did not affect fantasy basketball, there were a few more minutes available to Jamal Cain, who contributed 11 points off the bench.

Jonathan Isaac (knee) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Bulls.

Isaac did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Pacers, resulting in a few additional minutes off the bench for fellow reserve Noah Penda. However, neither has played enough to influence fantasy basketball. Both can remain on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.

Goga Bitadze had 14 points (6-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), nine rebounds and three assists against the Pacers on Wednesday.

Bitadze played just 19 minutes Wednesday, but was incredibly efficient with 14 points on seven field goal attempts and nine rebounds. The 26-year-old backup center isn’t worth rostering in most fantasy leagues without an injury to Wendell Carter Jr., but after missing some time to injury this year, Bitadze showed why he’s considered a reliable reserve.
Paolo Banchero

Paolo Banchero had 29 points (12-of-21 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks in the Magic’s 112-110 victory over the Magic on Wednesday.

Banchero drew some flack earlier this week after missing a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer Monday against the Raptors. The 23-year-old power forward bounced back in a big way Wednesday against the Pacers as he backed down his defender before driving and delivering the game-winner that put the Magic up 112-110 with seven seconds left. Banchero will continue to carry the offense with Franz Wagner out. The Magic will take on the Bulls Friday in their third of four games this week.
Jonathan Isaac

Jonathan Isaac (knee) is out for Wednesday’s matchup with the Pacers.

Isaac has averaged just 10.4 minutes per game this season, so his availability isn’t a big deal for fantasy managers. With Jett Howard (illness) out, Noah Penda may see a couple of extra minutes off the bench with, but Penda isn’t worth picking up in most formats.
Desmond Bane

ORL Guard #3

Desmond Bane (back) and Jalen Suggs (hip) are available for Wednesday’s matchup with the Pacers.

Bane was forced out of Monday’s matchup with Toronto due to back spasms, but the issue won’t cause him to miss any time. Suggs will return following a six-game absence, though it’s unclear if he’ll face any restrictions in his first game back. Anthony Black has been phenomenal, and he should retain standalone value even if he heads back to the bench in favor of Suggs. Tyus Jones will see the biggest reduction in playing time with Suggs back in action.
