The Dolphins made a big splash by agreeing to sign quarterback Malik Willis in the early hours of free agency on Monday and they moved on to filling out the rest of the roster on Wednesday.
According to various reports, the Dolphins have agreed to terms with edge rusher Joshua Uche, cornerback Alex Austin, tight end Ben Sims and defensive back Lonnie Johnson.
Uche had 23 tackles and a sack in 12 games for the Eagles in 2025. The 2020 Patriots second-rounder has 21.5 career sacks.
Austin saw time in the Patriots’ secondary over the last three seasons and posted 31 tackles and an interception. Sims saw time with the Packers and Vikings during the 2025 season and had three catches for 30 yards during his time in Minnesota.
Johnson has played for four teams since entering the league in 2019 and he had 25 tackles in nine games for the Raiders last season.
Core special teams player Zayne Anderson is following Jeff Hafley from Green Bay to Miami.
Anderson, 29, has agreed to terms with the Dolphins, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports.
Anderson spent the past three seasons in Green Bay, playing 40 games with two starts. A safety, he played 145 defensive snaps and 590 on special teams and totaled 36 tackles, one interception and two pass breakups.
He began his career in 2021 with the Chiefs, and played two seasons in Kansas City.
Anderson was with the Bills in the 2023 offseason and training camp before the Packers claimed him.
The Dolphins are making a pair of moves at cornerback on Wednesday.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that they are signing Darrell Baker to a one-year deal and they announced that they have re-signed A.J. Green.
Baker appeared in 34 games and made 19 starts for the Titans over the last two seasons. He had 95 tackles and 12 passes defensed in that action. Baker also had 35 tackles and a fumble recovery for the Colts during his first two NFL seasons.
Green played in three games for the Dolphins last season and also appeared in two games for the Rams earlier in the year. He played in 34 games for the Browns over his first four NFL seasons. He has 40 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries over his entire career.
Free agent edge rusher Bradley Chubb has agreed to a three-year, $43.5 million deal with the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The deal includes $29 million in guarantees and $9 million in incentives.
Chubb, 29, ranks 36th on PFT’s list of top-100 free agents.
He played all 17 games last season after returning from a torn ACL that kept him out the entire 2024 season. Chubb totaled 47 tackles, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 766 snaps. He played 72 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
The Dolphins acquired Chubb in a trade with the Broncos during the 2022 season. They recently released him, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The Broncos made him a first-round pick in 2018.
In his career, he has appeared in 90 games, with 89 starts, and has totaled 303 tackles, 48 sacks, one interception, seven passes defensed and 15 forced fumbles.
Jakeem Grant has not played a game since 2021, so his career has been finished for a while now.
The former Dolphins wide receiver, though, formally announced his retirement on Wednesday.
“For as long as I can remember, football helped me find my purpose,” Grant wrote on social media. “It gave me unforgettable memories, taught me hard lessons and created brothers I will carry with me for the rest of my life. . . . This game has always been a blessing, and I’m thankful for every moment it gave me.”
The Dolphins made Grant a sixth-round pick in 2016, and he played in Miami for six seasons. He also played part of the 2021 season with the Bears.
In 81 games, with eight starts, Grant made 100 receptions for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns. He also returned four punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns.
