Zach Edey had 10 points (3-of-3 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, two steals and one block against the Bulls on Friday.

Edey made his preseason debut earlier this week after returning from offseason ankle surgery. The 24-year-old big man from Purdue played well in 16 minutes. He had 10 points, five rebounds, two steals and a block. Healthy again, Edey is a solid pick in the middle of the fifth-round of fantasy drafts this year.
Embiid's health a major factor in 76ers win total
Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick discuss their predictions for the new-look 76ers win total, which is set at 50.5, and why the under is at play due to the health of star big man Joel Embiid.

Stewart’s preseason debut with the Grizzlies lasted just two minutes when he sprained his left ankle in Monday’s game against the Pistons. He has since been diagnosed with a moderate sprain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Based on the timeline, Stewart will miss the regular-season opener on October 21, but could return shortly after. His absence won’t significantly affect fantasy basketball, especially since Zach Edey is healthy.
  • MEM Center #14
Edey made his preseason debut in this one and managed to pile up four rebounds in a statsheet-stuffing performance that lasted just 10 minutes. The 24-year-old center is one of the more challenging big men to forecast for fantasy purposes because he’s shown some flashes of immense all-around potential as an impact interior defender with significant offensive upside. He was limited to just 11 games last year due to lingering left ankle issues that ultimately required season-ending surgery. It’s unrealistic to count on Edey from a volume standpoint, but even a moderately healthy campaign would make him easily worthy of an early-round pick as a top-60 range selection in fantasy drafts this fall.
  • MEM Center #14
Kleiman said Edey could be ready for the start of the regular season. After having season-ending ankle surgery in March, Edey is right where he needs to be in his rehab, according to Kleiman. It doesn’t sound like the 24-year-old center will miss too much time, making Edey a worthwhile selection in the fifth-round of fantasy drafts.
  • Boozer is one of the top prospects in the draft class, regardless of position. While he offers a high floor, that may be selling his long-term ceiling short. A consensus All-American, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 22.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 three-pointers in 33.4 minutes at Duke, shooting 55.6 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from three and 78.9 percent from the foul line. Boozer’s physicality and work ethic make him a good choice for any franchise looking to reset its roster. He should slot in as the starting power forward for Memphis after they traded Jaren Jackson Jr. to Utah at the trade deadline. Boozer should fit in well alongside Zach Edey in the starting unit and become the franchise cornerstone for the Grizzlies.
  • MEM Center #14
The team announced that the surgery on his left ankle was successful, and he’s expected to make a full recovery ahead of next season. Edey was incredibly effective when he was on the floor, and he is considered an important part of the Grizzlies’ future. Hopefully he’ll be healthier next season after logging just 11 games this year. He played 66 games as a rookie, so there is reason for optimism entering next season.
  • MEM Center #14
Edey is having surgery to resolve ongoing discomfort and talar bone stress in his left ankle. The 23-year-old previously had ankle surgery last June to address the lateral joint. Edey is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Grizzlies, though he’s currently without a timetable for return. Santi Aldama should be rostered in most formats with Edey out for the foreseeable future. It would be surprising if Edey played again this year. He will likely finish the season with just 11 starts, but a .656 field-goal percentage and a bushel of blocks and rebounds. He does have some real upside (if he can stay healthy) in the 2026-27 fantasy season, especially if the Grizzlies move off Ja Morant and have to use Edey as an offensive focal point.
  • MEM Forward-Center #7
Back in the Grizzlies’ lineup after a two-game absence, Aldama played 27 minutes on Monday. The production was solid, and he’s now reached double figures in four of his last five appearances. Jock Landale (personal) being away from the team could have raised Aldama’s fantasy ceiling, but the playing time did not receive a significant boost. That said, he should be rostered in standard leagues as long as the Grizzlies are without starting center Zach Edey (ankle).
  • MEM Forward-Center #7
Since scoring a career-high 37 points in a December 23 win over the Jazz, Aldama had not recorded more than 15 points in any game. That changed on Thursday in Berlin, as the Grizzlies forward/center hit all four of his three-point attempts. Zach Edey’s (ankle) absence has opened up additional opportunities for Aldama. Still, the impact has been muted since Jock Landale (6/5/1/1/1 with one three-pointer) has been the replacement in the starting lineup.
  • MEM Center #14
Edey last played on December 7, and this latest update means he won’t return until at least late February or early March. While Edey is out, Jock Landale and Santi Aldama should continue to soak up minutes at center.
  • MEM Forward #15
Clarke, who underwent offseason right knee surgery, is available to play for the first time this season. With Zach Edey (ankle) out, rotation minutes should be available. That said, the amount of time that Clarke missed likely means that he’ll be on a minutes restriction. He isn’t a must-add now, but keep an eye on Clarke’s minutes and production.

Tarris Reed Jr. accounted for four points (1-of-6 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), 17 rebounds, one assist, three steals and one blocked shot in Monday’s exhibition against the Jazz.

With Victor Wembanyama and Luke Kornet locked into their spots in the Spurs’ rotation, Reed will likely be the third center in his rookie season. If there’s one area where he can be valuable, it’s on the glass. Reed grabbed 17 boards on Monday, including eight on the offensive end. That doesn’t make him a redraft-league target, but you should roster the first-round pick out of UConn in dynasty leagues.

Keldon Johnson amassed 15 points (4-of-10 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), four rebounds, four assists and two steals in Monday’s exhibition against the Jazz.

Johnson, the reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year, was inserted into the Spurs’ starting lineup on Monday. Obviously, he won’t be asked to fill that role very often once the regular season begins. Another issue for Johnson’s fantasy outlook is the emergence of Dylan Harper, even though they don’t play the same position, and the addition of Tobias Harris. The deeper rotation means someone will lose playing time, and that could be Johnson.

Harrison Barnes finished Monday’s exhibition against the Jazz with 19 points (3-of-8 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), two rebounds, one assist and three three-pointers.

With many of the Spurs’ regulars sitting out Monday’s game, Barnes moved into the starting lineup. As expected, the veteran forward hunted his shot aggressively and earned multiple trips to the foul line. Given San Antonio’s depth when everyone is available, Barnes is unlikely to offer much value in most fantasy leagues this season.

Jaxson Hayes recorded 11 points (4-of-5 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs) and two rebounds in Monday’s exhibition against the Spurs.

With Jusuf Nurkić (toe) out for at least four weeks, Hayes is likely to be Utah’s starting center come Opening Night. He didn’t offer much rebounding value on Monday, and over his career, Hayes averages 5.8 rebounds per game when he starts. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect much from him as a starter, but Hayes’s biggest value will be letting Jaren Jackson Jr. stay at power forward.

Jaren Jackson Jr. tallied 13 points (6-of-8 FGs), three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer in Monday’s exhibition against the Spurs.

Jackson was whistled for five fouls during the first half, but his defensive aggression was likely influenced by the expectation that he’d be done at halftime. Jackson recorded a complete stat line in his 18 minutes, and he should be a highly valuable frontcourt player in category leagues this season. The key will be to stay healthy, as injuries limited Jackson to 48 games in 2025-26.

Darryn Peterson finished Monday’s exhibition against the Spurs with 14 points (5-of-10 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, one steal and one three-pointer.

Peterson was the lone Jazz starter to see any action after halftime, logging nine minutes in the third quarter. The Jazz inserted Isaiah Collier (11 points, three rebounds, six assists, five steals, and one three-pointer) to start the second half, suggesting they currently view Peterson solely as a two-guard. His taking that role when he’s on the floor with Keyonte George isn’t a surprise, but Peterson may not get many point guard minutes when Utah’s PG1 sits.

OG Anunoby amassed 15 points (4-of-8 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, one assist, three steals and one three-pointer in Monday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Anunoby was one of three Knicks starters to finish Monday’s exhibition in double figures, joining Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. Despite providing top-50 value each of the last two seasons, OG’s current ADP still sits in the high-60s. With that in mind, he could return excellent fantasy value in 2026-27, especially if he’s more aggressive in looking for his own shot.

Jalen Brunson finished Monday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves with 20 points (6-of-13 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one three-pointer.

Monday’s game was the first of two in as many nights for the Knicks, who visit the Raptors on Tuesday. Even if Brunson and the other starters are available, they may not play much in New York’s final road game this preseason. Unsurprisingly, Brunson was the most productive starter against the Timberwolves, and he’ll lead the way offensively on many nights during the regular season.

Anthony Edwards recorded 26 points (8-of-16 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, one steal and five three-pointers in Monday’s exhibition against the Knicks.

The partnership between Edwards and LaMelo Ball (10 points, three rebounds, seven assists, one block and one three-pointer) has looked good in the preseason. The Timberwolves clearly prioritized getting a playmaker to share the court with Ant-Man, and Ball fits the mold. There will likely be some growing pains once the results count, but this should be another big year for Edwards. He has a first-round ADP in 12-team leagues, and that’s fair.

Jaden McDaniels tallied 22 points (8-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, two assists and four three-pointers in Monday’s exhibition against the Knicks.

With Julius Randle and Naz Reid out of the picture in Minnesota, McDaniels should have more room to operate as a scorer. He was very effective against the Knicks, shooting nearly 67 percent from the field overall and going 4-of-5 from deep. With an ADP in the nineties, McDaniels could be a steal in fantasy basketball this season.
