The Nets signed F Mitch Creek to a 10-day contract on Friday.
Brooklyn signed Creek to a training camp deal back in October, but waived him before the start of the season. In 25 games (20 starts) for the Nets G League affiliate this season, Creek has averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 30.6 minutes per contest.

Nikola Jović (elbow) has been ruled out against the Nets on Thursday.
Jović exited early from Miami’s last game, and the injury will keep him sidelined for at least one more game. Jović’s role over the past month has been minimal, so his absence won’t impact the Heat’s rotation.
Cavs 'cannot afford' Mitchell to have an off night
Pierre Andresen reveals his pick 6 set on DraftKings Sports Book for a pair of matchups, highlighting how Donovan Mitchell has been "on a mission" for the Cavs and Julius Randle's growth as an "underrated" playmaker.
  • MIA Guard #14
Tyler Herro (toe) has been ruled out against the Nets on Thursday.
Herro is traveling with Miami, but he will miss a second straight game. He could be back to take on the Celtics on Friday, but Simone Fontecchio will likely start again with Herro unavailable.
  • MEM Guard #12
Ja Morant (ankle) was seen in crutches and in street clothes at shootaround ahead of Wednesday’s game against Minnesota.
Memphis hasn’t ruled him out yet, but how often does a player show up on crutches to shootaround and play later that day? Vince Williams Jr. had been starting when Morant was last sidelined, and he was an elite source of assists in that role. He would be worth streaming, especially on a day with only two games played.
  • D’Angelo Russell (illness) is probable to play against the Pistons on Thursday.
Russell is expected to be back after a two-game absence and will likely return to playing his typical reserve role where he sees minutes in the teens. Brandon Williams (Achilles) is questionable, so if he doesn’t play, Russell could see a bump in minutes, though it likely won’t make him worth streaming.
  • DAL Guard #10
Brandon Williams (Achilles) is questionable to play against the Pistons on Thursday.
Williams missed Monday’s game against Utah, which allowed Ryan Nembhard to see a bump in minutes as the starter. Jaden Hardy also joined the rotation and played a small role off the bench, though he will likely be pushed back out of the rotation if Williams returns.
  • DAL Forward-Center #3
Anthony Davis (calf) is questionable to play against the Pistons on Thursday.
Davis logged a full practice on Wednesday and has a chance to return to the lineup after missing Monday’s game against the Jazz. Daniel Gafford played 13 minutes as a starter in place of Davis in that game and would likely return to playing a reserve role if Davis returns.
  • MIA Guard #14
Tyler Herro (toe) is traveling with the Heat for its three-game road trip.
Herro didn’t practice on Wednesday, but traveling with Miami implies he has a chance to return during their next three games. That trip starts in Brooklyn on Thursday. Simone Fontecchio, who started in place of Herro on Monday, would likely get another start if Herro misses at least one more game.
  • MIA Guard #24
Norman Powell (calf) did not practice on Wednesday.
This is a new injury for Powell, which certainly brings his status for Thursday’s game against the Nets into question. Tyler Herro (toe) also missed practice, so there could be a ton of extra minutes for Jaime Jaquez Jr. and at least one open spot in the starting lineup for him to fill.
  • ATL Guard #11
Trae Young (knee) has been recalled from the College Park Skyhawks.
Young was assigned to the G League for a practice on Tuesday and has now been recalled to Atlanta, with the team set to practice on Wednesday. If Young’s knee responds well to a practice with the team, he could certainly make a return this weekend. They have a back-to-back on Thursday and Friday, so he’d likely only play in one of those games if he’s made available by then. If not, they host the Bulls on Sunday. Young may have his minutes limited in his first game back, but he has never come off the bench in his career, so Nickeil Alexander-Walker will likely return to a reserve role when the time comes. However, NAW saw plenty of usage early on before Young’s injury, so having Trae back in the lineup shouldn’t decimate his value. However, NAW, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson will all take a slight usage hit when last season’s assists leader returns.
  • SAS Forward-Center #1
Victor Wembanyama had 18 points (7-of-17 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two three-pointers against the Knicks on Tuesday.
Wembanyama only played 25 minutes after playing 21 minutes in his first game back from a calf injury on Saturday. The 21-year-old power forward had an incredible stretch at the end of the third quarter where he scored 10 consecutive points. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Spurs, who led by two at halftime, to secure a victory against the Knicks. Wembanyama and the Spurs will be back in action on Thursday against the Wizards.
