Alperen Şengün amassed 28 points (11-of-22 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one three-pointer in Sunday’s EuroBasket loss to Germany.
In a matchup of the two nations to go undefeated in this summer’s FIBA EuroBasket competition, Türkiye fell by an 88-83 final score. While the ending was a disappointment for Şengün, he had an outstanding tournament overall. In nine games, the Rockets center averaged 21.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.1 blocks and 0.8 three-pointers, shooting nearly 60 percent from the field and 75 percent from the foul line. Germany kept Şengün off the boards in Sunday’s final, with the three rebounds being the fewest he recorded in a game this event. He’ll look to use this summer as a springboard into 2025-26, with Şengün boasting top-50 fantasy potential at a minimum.
