The 27-year-old from Kagoshima, Japan, is riding a wave of eight straight paydays that include four top-10 finishes, most recently finishing T-7 in the Japan Open. Inamori missed the cut in The Open, although he finished T-2 in the Japan PGA Championship the week prior. Entering the Zozo Championship, he leads the JGT in driving accuracy, a stat he’s led the tour in every year since 2015. During the wraparound 2020-21 season, Inamori won the Japan Open for the second time in three years and led the tour in earnings at the end of the 2020 calendar year. During his run to the 2018 Japan Open title, he shot four rounds in the 60s and hit every fairway during the final round to beat Shaun Norris by two strokes. Inamori made one start in the U.S. last season, at the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession, where he finished T-48.
