George Karl will begin his Kings tenure with a point guard position in chaos.

Sacramento’s top point guard, Darren Collison, is injured.

Ramon Sessions just got traded for Andre Miller, who played for Karl with the Nuggets. But it’s not clear how quickly Miller will report.

That leaves only Ray McCallum, so Sacramento is calling for reinforcements.

Marc Stein of ESPN:

David Stockton, son of Jazz great John Stockton, had tryouts with Utah and Oklahoma City and spent training camp with the Wizards. An undrafted rookie, he didn’t look like an NBA prospect at Gonzaga. But he has worked his way around the periphery of the league enough to make me believe he could deserve a shot.

The Kings host the Celtics tonight and visit the Clippers tomorrow. Depending how quickly Miller gets to California and cleared to play, Stockton could even join Sacramento’s rotation.
