The Dolphins aren’t the only team planning a second interview with Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.

Albert Breer of SI.com reports that the Titans have scheduled a second meeting with Hafley on Tuesday. It was previously reported that Hafley will be meeting with the Dolphins.

Should all go well in that interview with Miami, Hafley could wind up with the Dolphins job before he moves on to Tennessee. The interest from both teams suggests that there’s a good chance Hafley will wind up being a head coach somewhere before this year’s coaching carousel stops spinning.

With the Giants hiring John Harbaugh and the Falcons hiring Kevin Stefanski, there are currently seven head coaching vacancies around the league.

Curt Cignetti has engineered a remarkable turnaround as head coach of Indiana, with the program set to play for the CFP national championship on Monday night.

But don’t expect Cignetti to potentially do something similar in the pros.

Asked if he would consider an NFL job on Saturday, Cignetti dismissed the idea.

I’m not an NFL guy,” Cignetti said, via Brett McMurphy of On3.com. “I made that decision a long time ago. I’ve always been a college football guy.”

Cignetti has been a coach at the college level for decades and he’s won everywhere he’s been, most notably at James Madison from 2019-2023 and now at Indiana over the last two years.

While money can talk, it doesn’t seem like Cignetti has any interest in trying to translate his success to the pros.

Mike McDaniel’s travels across the country have been well documented on social media over the last week after he was fired by the Dolphins.

But he won’t need to get on another plane to take one of his next meetings.

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, McDaniel will interview with the Raiders on Monday in South Florida.

Las Vegas’ top brass will be in town to watch Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza — the likely No. 1 overall pick — play in the CFP national championship game against the University of Miami. Pelissero notes that in the hours before that game, Raiders officials will meet with McDaniel about their head coach vacancy.

McDaniel has interviewed for a variety of head coach and offensive coordinator jobs since the Dolphins fired him last week. Atlanta, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Tennessee have all spoken with McDaniel about a top job.

If McDaniel does not land a head coaching gig, he will likely be the most in-demand offensive coordinator candidate in the league.

Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is the betting favorite to be the next head coach of the Dolphins, and he’ll be in Miami for another interview next week.

Hafley has scheduled an in-person interview with the Dolphins, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. It will be his second interview with the Dolphins.

New Dolphins General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan was the Packers’ vice president of player personnel before the Dolphins hired him last week, and Sullivan and Hafley were in Green Bay together for two years. Hafley and Sullivan are believed to have the kind of good working relationship teams want their GM and head coach to have.

The 46-year-old Hafley was the head coach at Boston College from 2020 to 2023 before resigning to become the Packers’ defensive coordinator. He went 22-26 at Boston College.

The Buccaneers completed an interview with former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, the team announced Friday.

The meeting took place in person at the team’s training facility.

The Bucs fired offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard after one season.

McDaniel was the Dolphins’ head coach from 2022-25 after previously serving as an offensive coordinator on Kyle Shanahan’s staff with the 49ers. He was Miami’s offensive play-caller during his tenure as head coach.

During those four combined seasons, the Dolphins ranked eighth in the NFL in both net yards per game (348.0) and passing yards per game (232.8), while also recording the sixth-best yards per carry average (4.54) and the 12th-most points scored per game (23.3).

McDaniel has had interviews for head coaching vacancies with the Falcons, Browns, Titans and Ravens. The Lions have interviewed him for their offensive coordinator position.

The Buccaneers have interviewed six other candidates for their offensive coordinator position. The team previously met with Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Giants interim head coach Mike Kafka, former Titans head coach Brian Callahan, Lions passing game coordinator David Shaw, Cardinals quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork and Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson.
