The Jets are 0-6 and that makes it unsurprising that they are seen as a team that could be sellers at the trade deadline this season.

When that conversation comes up, it doesn’t take long for running back Breece Hall’s name to come up. Hall is in the final year of his rookie deal and there was trade chatter about him this offseason, so it was probably inevitable that his solid start to the season would result in more speculation.

Head coach Aaron Glenn’s answer in August was that he was not interested in moving Hall to another team and he said on Wednesday that nothing has changed in his eyes.

“They’re rumors. I still feel the same way,” Glenn said at his press conference, via multiple reporters.

Hall said last week that he hopes to remain with the Jets. The trade deadline is November 4.

Nick Mangold, a seven-time Pro Bowl center for the Jets, is in need of a kidney, and has asked fans to consider donating.

In a message he distributed through the Jets, Mangold said his kidney failure stems from a condition he was diagnosed with in 2006, the year the Jets drafted him in the first round.

“This isn’t an easy message to share, but I want to be open about what’s been happening with me and my health. In 2006, I was diagnosed with a genetic defect that has led to chronic kidney disease,” Mangold wrote. “After a rough summer, I’m undergoing dialysis as we look for a kidney transplant. I always knew this day would come, but I thought I would have had more time. Unfortunately, I do not have any family able to donate at this time, so this is why I’m reaching out to you, our NY Jets community. I am in need of a kidney donor with type O blood. If you are willing to find out if you could be a match and donate a kidney to me please go to this site https://columbiasurgery.org/kidney-transplant and click the link I WANT TO DONATE MY KIDNEY. Use my full name, Nicholas Mangold, and my birthday, 1/13/1984. I am deeply grateful to anyone that would consider donating.”

Mangold retired from the Jets after the 2016 season and was inducted into the Jets’ Ring of Honor in 2022.

The Jets are moving on from one of their defensive linemen.

Per Rich Cimini of ESPN, New York is waiving defensive tackle Leonard Taylor.

Taylor, 26, joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Miami last year. He appeared in 14 games as a rookie, recording 1.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, and four QB hits.

But this season, he’s appeared in just two games, playing 47 defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps. He has not been active on gameday since Week 3.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn’s decision to stick with quarterback Justin Fields during Sunday’s 13-11 loss to the Broncos in London was met with some criticism and it wasn’t the only decision that led to further questions after the game.

The team’s lack of urgency to try to score points after converting a fake punt near midfield at the end of the first half led to an angry outburst from wide receiver Garrett Wilson along with heavy scrutiny from those watching the game. After the game, Glenn said he didn’t want to risk giving the ball back to the Broncos with a chance to score even though failing on the fake punt would have done just that and the Jets could have snapped the ball with seconds left to at least try a Hail Mary.

On Monday, though, Glenn acknowledged that he should have taken that shot as time expired.

“I said guys, let’s just get out the half, right, because we’re getting the ball in the second half,” Glenn said, via a transcript from the team. “But yes, I would say, if I could take, man let’s run it down, let’s get ready to throw the Hail Mary. So, I’m with you on that. That’s a mistake that I made and I hold myself accountable for that.”

Glenn came to the Jets from the Lions and Detroit has been very aggressive under head coach Dan Campbell. Glenn has talked about coaching the same way and the team could have used more of that approach in their sixth loss of the season.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said at a Monday press conference that he will have an update on wide receiver Garrett Wilson’s knee injury on Wednesday, but a report about the wideout has shed some light on the severity of the injury.

Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports that an MRI showed that Wilson appeared to avoid a major knee injury. Wilson could still miss some time as a result of the injury, which he suffered in Sunday’s 13-11 loss to the Broncos in London.

Wilson has 36 catches for 395 yards and four touchdowns this season.

The Jets host the Panthers in Week 7 and they visit the Bengals in Week 8 before their Week 9 bye. Missing Wilson for those games would hurt their chances of winning for the first time this season, but the longer view might make it the wisest path to take.
